Paradise in peril - Part One

I didn't think I would find such joy in myself since I lost everything but I was wrong. Ever since we got together, I couldn't think of anything but Kara.

Being with her has filled me with so much joy. But my thoughts were interrupted when I realized that someone was already there when I entered the apartment.

I quickly summoned Mjolnir and, in a flash,I turned on the light and attacked the first person who was there.

???? Stop, Asgardian. We didn't come here to fight.

A woman with dark brown long hair and a white robe said.

Two other women stood in front, one had a pink robe and long golden hair that looked at him with hungry eyes.

The third had black hair and her gown was the color of starlight.

Luke: Ahh...

I put the hammer down and took off my coat not giving them any attention.

Luke: I didn't know I would have such distinguished guests with me tonight. Can you tell me what brought three Olympian deities to my apartment, not that I mind?

I said in a neutral tone.

The one in the pink gown walked up to me and ran her finger around my hands and shoulders.

Aphrodite: You definitely weren't lying; he's handsome and muscular, not bulky but just about enough.

Luke: You must be Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. And you two are Athena and Artemis.

Aphrodite continued to walk around me with her seductive ways but when she tried to grab me again, I grabbed her hand.

When she saw, it wasn't going to work, I let her go and she sat on the sofa showing off her assets.

Athena: Seeing as you know who we are, at least we can get straight to the point.

Luke: Yeah, I know I'll know the Olympian gods anytime; they have that aura of civility about them. I guess you wouldn't be visiting me if it wasn't something very important.

Athena: You're right, Themyscira the home of the Amazons is in danger, and there are those who want to destroy it...

That's when I interrupted her.

Luke: So, you want me to help you because you can't intervene if I understand correctly. Why don't you turn to Cassie, she's Wonder Woman now.

Artemis: Cassie replaced Diana very well but she can't handle what's going to go against her alone, she needs help.

Luke: So, it's a family matter again. Tell me, why should I help you? I was told not to trust the Olympian gods; they'll betray you as soon as it suits them.

With those words he stood up and walked over to the trio of women.

Artemis: If you don't want to help because of us, help Cassie she's your friend and a fellow colleague. We know how much you treasure your friends and will do whatever it takes for them.

He sighed.

Luke: Ok, I'll help her.

Athena: Okay, we'll let Cassie know and she'll meet you tomorrow at the smaller airport near Metropolis.

Artemis and Athena vanished in a flash of bright light. The last one left was Aphrodite who walked over to Luke and caressed his hands.

Aphrodite: So young and strong, call me when you need female company, I'll be happy to come. Or call me and your Kryptonian, we'll spice things up.

She said in her seductive tone at which any mortal would have succumbed, even if he was a god, he could not resist her seductive attempts for long.

Truly she was the goddess of love.

The next morning, I arrived at a small airport near Metropolis, where Cassie was waiting for me at the entrance to the hangar.

We walked up to each other and hugged.

Cassie: Since you're here, we can go.

Luke: I take it there's a reason we didn't use the hangar at the Hall of Justice?

Cassie: There is, this is about Themyscira and this smaller airport belongs to us.

I followed her to the hangar where there was a smaller private jet, similar to the Javelin but different.

Cassie: This is a private plane that belongs to Themyscira, Diana used it for travel before but now it belongs to me.

I followed her into the plane, we put our things down on the seat and both went into the cockpit.

We settled in, Cassie in the pilot's seat and me in the co-pilot's seat.

Luke: I take it you know how to pilot?

Cassie: Diana taught me a long time ago.

Luke: Your sisters won't be happy when they find out you brought me.

Cassie: They won't be, but the danger is great, and I won't let anyone threaten my home. Plus, I'm glad you're here to watch my back.

Luke: You're welcome; I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to you and your home. The League and the rest of you have given me a home and you have become my family and that's worth fighting for.

I smiled at her and she started the engines and the plane slowly moved out of the hangar and in a few minutes, it was in the air and heading towards Themyscira.

The flight took several hours and we arrived at Paradise Island during the late afternoon hours. By the time the Javelin landed, Queen Hyppolita was waiting for us along with her escort.
