It was late at night but you had to go to work down to the mines. The one thing that you hated is that you had the late shift well at least you weren't alone one other person works the late shift with you Anthony. You race out of bed and get dressed and ready for a new day, well night, at work hoping to find something cool while you mine. As you're walking out the door you phone rings it's Anthony the friend that you work with during the night shift with you pick up your phone and as you do you hear the sound of someone throwing up."Dude are you ok." You asked. He continues to cough and vomit simultaneously he didn't sound good honestly he sounded like shit."Dude sorry but I can't go to work tonight I hope you understand." He lets out before coughing again."Yeah it's ok I won't mind being alone I'll be ok just get some rest bro I'll talk to you tomorrow I hope you feel better." You say trying not to show that you Really don't want to work alone."Thanks dude bye." He said as he hung up."Well crap." You grumbled putting your phone back in your pocket. You were contemplating on whether or not to call your boss and say you were sick but you thought it would just be best to work and get paid. You hop into your car and turn it on, on the radio there was a warning that a big storm was coming and to stay somewhere safe.'Well I'm going to be down in a mine shaft I think thats safe enough for me'. You thought as you pulled out and headed to the mine. It starts to rain as you pulled in and got out of your car. You hold your pickaxe over your shoulder."Time to mine." As you say it lightning flashes behind you. You turn around."Thank you well timed ominous lightning." You turn back to the mine shaft and head down to the mines. It's 3 A.M. only and hour left of work you decide to start and different branch in the mine as you walk down you hear something, you stop so you can hear it better with our the sounds of your feet. You hear what it is and you almost drop your pickaxe. It's breathing but you're alone you thought there was no car outside and there was no sound other than the pickaxe chipping rock until now. A curious side of you kicks in to look for whatever was breathing maybe just a animal but might as well check, as you walk around you almost get lost but you can hear whatever it is and it's close to you, you walk a bit more until you see what it is making the noise at the end of a branching off of the mine you see a person slouched over in the corner breathing heavily. You want to want to walk over there to see if he is ok but you don't know this person maybe he could hurt you or is a criminal. You think it's best to walk away and call someone but as you turn around he hears you and turns around you run as fast as you can, the creature gets on all fours and sprints after you, you try to find a place to hide, you get to the part of the mine you know by heart and you cut down a branch and hide the creature continues to run. As you catch your breath you try to think of what's chasing you, you think back to when you saw it's face. It had sharp teeth with blood dripping from them and half eaten fox on the floor near him. The sound of footsteps are getting closer to you the creature leaps on to you and bites your shoulder, you try to hit it off of you but it won't let go of you. You reach for you pickaxe and swing at it you hit it right in the ribs, it was just enough to make him let go you run to the entrance of the mine. As you look back you see the thing get on all fours and let out a screech, a second later you hear the screech again multiple times.'Theres more!?!?!.' You thought terrified now you get out and run to your car. As you pull out you see the creature and this time it had friends at least 9 more with it you thought that they were going to run out and kill you but no the didn't even leave the mine you speed away to the hospital. The next morning you call you boss saying you quit. A couple days later your boss calls you."What is it Jordan." You say."It's Anthony there was an incident down in the mine last night he's dead." Jordan said with a sadden tone in his voice."What do you mean WHAT Happened." You asked not trying to show weakness."It was a animal attack they said it looks like a pack of animals attack him while he was alone last night."He said, you drop your phone They Got to him.
