Chapter 1: unliked

Melanie POV:

"Melanie!" the sound of a disappointed mother, my mother, called me downstairs for a "meeting". "Yeah mom?" I said acting like I was in the mood😒. "Got a letter from school today, it says how you missed school for 3 days in a row? When did you miss 3 days of school?" Oops there's the moment I knew I was going to get caught for skipping school, I tried to think of another excuse why these letters keep coming to my mom😁. "Mom I didn't miss 3 days? You saw me go on the bus remember, that letter is probably a mistake because my homeroom teacher must not have taken my attendance😌"
I felt safe but for a good minute it was complete silence, I walked back up my stairs very slowly to end the convo, I turned my head to look at the stairs to go up, next thing I see is the ground and I hear my mother screaming at me. "Don't play games Melanie I know you are skipping school! I asked your friends where you've been going and they said they never see you anymore?! Melanie Harper don't make me hit you again, go up to your room.. I'm taking you to school tomorrow." As I went up the steps my mom followed behind me, she pushed me up the steps and dragged me to my bedroom, she slammed the door closed and it made my bed shake, she yelled "don't come out till tomorrow morning!!" And when she says it, she means it. She honestly won't even let me use the bathroom or get a drink, I'm 17 years old living like a child! It was getting to be 9:00 I ment to take a quick shower while my mom doesn't notice but when I opened my door I saw she was in there. She saw me with the door open, I gave her the "😶" look and she came over and hit me at least 4 times till I was able to still shut my door.
