Diva-Boy

Above Earth and below Heaven is Wisdoma's World of cherubs, and this story is about; 

Understanding and accepting someone different.

      Supreme Teacher Spikehead was anxiously waiting for Head Mistress Wisdoma's return from Heaven. 

      When an angel came with a message that Jesus wanted to see her, she left immediately for Heaven. 

      Sitting in the park watching the cherubs play a friendly baseball game made the Teacher laugh at their clumsy running. Then he heard a flutter above him and was surprised at what he saw. 

      Cherub Goober also looked up and saw Mistress Wisdoma heading to the auditorium.  But what was trailing behind her made him freeze in place with his mouth open. 

     Everyone stopped playing as they saw why Goober was in open mouth surprise. 

     Spikehead headed to the auditorium to meet Mistress Wisdoma and her guest. 

     When he arrived, he saw Wisdoma holding the hand of an interesting cherub, waiting for him. 

     Looking at the Teacher, she says, "I would like to introduce you to Diva-Boy."

     Bending low, Supreme Teacher extends his long arm to shake the hand of this short adorable, and unusual cherub.

     Mistress says, "Jesus sent Diva-Boy to us so he may understand the workings of Humans on Earth.  Suddenly Mistress Wisdoma and Spikehead heard a sound; looking at the empty Auditorium, they see Goober, Boo-Hoo and Swagger staring at the stage with open mouths. Then right behind them came robust SallWally and BoozyWoozy, also staring.

     Wisdoma invited them on stage to introduce her new cherub.  "Everyone I would like to present, Diva-Boy, who will stay with us for awhile."  Diva-Boy holds a limp hand to shake Goobers's  chubby little hand. Boo-Hoo started jumping at the thought of a new friend, and Swagger could only think, oh no, it's not as if I don't have enough to handle.

     Diva-Boy looked at the robust SallyWally and smelled something extraordinary when she said, "I will make a special dessert to welcome you. " which put a smile on his face. While BoozyWoozy started drumming a new song to accept this eccentric new cherub.

     "Why don't you take Diva-Boy  and show him around," says Teacher.  

     Diva's long curly blond hair almost slapped BooHoo in the face as they flew off. Who was following too close. 

     They headed to the cafeteria to get some lunch. Arriving, they found the room abuzz with gossip about the new cherub.  Entering, everyone fell silent and stared. It could have been more comfortable. No one had seen a cherub that looked or walked in such a fashion. When Diva-Boy looked back at them, they averted their eyes and hung their heads low. 

     Watching Diva, Goober was still determining what to make of him. He had a strange way of walking, almost like he was swaying, and his hands were always limp.  But he was likable, and Goober could see Boo-Hoo enthralled with him. But there was something that held Goober back.  He was slightly jealous of how Boo-Hoo, his best friend, liked him. 

     Spikehead had an assignment for the cherubs and found them sitting in the garden listening to BoozyWoozy playing his guitar when Diva suddenly  got up and started whirling around dancing, his arms flaring, having a good time. 

     Goober watching was still trying to determine if it was jealousy he felt toward him. He was different.

     Approaching the cherubs, Spikehead said, " I have an assignment for you. There was a shooting at a gay nightclub, and we need you to go assess the situation.
