Chapter 24

~~~Few weeks earlier~~~

"You guys go on ahead, will catch up with you later!" Y/n called as they headed towards the shore.

They both sat down on the sand, watching as the waves lapped over each other.

Jimmy's POV

I watched the waves overlap as the cool breeze flowing through my brown hair. Just as peaceful as the day we strolled through the park that night. I looked over at Y/n who stared at the moon in wonder. I thought back to the day when she first stumbled through the portal. We were surprised, right when we were about to escort her back though, Timmy just happens to fiddle with controls causing the portal to malfunction.
It was infuriating and a hassle to fix it, and getting it to work again. But one thing still boggles my mind...

"Y/n?"

"Yes, Jimmy?"

"I've been meaning to ask you for some time now. I was already done fixing the portal but you always avoided it to return home, why is that?" I asked. "It has been a long time since she stayed with us and not once said that you missed going back."

Y/n froze at the question.

"Don't you miss your family? I'm sure they are worried about you."

She looked down with a doleful look. I stared at her.

"Did they...?"

She nodded slowly. A tear ran down her cheek. I instantly regret asking her that.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

"It's ok," She reassured me, looking at the waves. there was a moment of silence before I spoke again.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I offered, This was the first time I saw her in this state. I wished she could've told us about this sooner.

Y/n shook her head. "I'm not ready to tell the others about this either,"

I scooted closer to her side.

"You don't have to tell us now, only when you're ready," I soothed her.

She then rested her head on my shoulder.

"Thank you," She whispered as her eyes slowly began to close.

I smiled, looking up at the moon as its pale light shone above us from the sky.

"You're welcome, Y/n."

Jimmy froze in place, trembling as guilt washed over him. Blood flowed across the floor touching one of his gloved hands. The other, gripped the scalpel that had been thrust into Y/n's throat. She stared at him with hazy eyes, and a trickle of blood fell off the side of her gaping mouth. Her body lay still.

"HAHAHAHA! Do you see what happens when they get in your way? Now you can finish what you have started, and finally get rid of the syndicate for good! You'll be unstoppable!"

Jimmy was too busy staring at the body in disbelief.

"N-no...no no no NO NO NO!" Jimmy cried out, taking out the scalpel from Y/n's neck and throwing it across the floor. He got off and kneeled next to the body Lifting Y/n's head with his hand.

"Y/n, wake up! I didn't mean it!"

'It's too late now, she's already dead. Not that you needed her.'

"I never wanted this!!"

'And yet here you are. What was it you said? 'I'm not that type of person!' Look around you, you killed the only friends you had. Such a shame.'' It mocked him in cruel glee.

"Shut up..." Jimmy said through gritted teeth.

'You're all alone now. You. Have. No one.'

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

Silence fell in the room, he could no longer hear the voice that had been taunting him. Breathing heavily, He surveyed the area around him. The surgical tools were scattered across the floor along with a couple of splatters of ectoplasm. The fairy wand with its handle snapped in two, no longer producing magic. The surgical table now overturned, spilling the rest of the contents. In one corner, dark and secluded he could see a kitten on its side along with the robot head of his dog companion, the remains of It were scattered in the room. A few of the parts were with the corpse of Timmy and the rest of his friends still contained within the cylinders, The people he fought alongside, laughed and shared precious moments with. He was truly alone.

"I-I'm sorry..."

Tears started to form in his eyes. "Danny...Timmy...Spongebob...Goddard and Scarlett... I never wanted this to happen to all of you."

He looked back at Y/n, her body hung limp in his arms.

"Especially you...What have I done?" Jimmy sobbed.

He hugged her close to his chest as hot tears fell on her H/C hair.

"I...I wish for another chance," he whispered weakly, sniffling.

As he continued to grieve the loss of his friends, he didn't notice that the fairy wand, whose handle was broken, began to be engulfed by magic. Jimmy lifted his head in time to see it levitating in the air. He watched as the two pieces clicked into place. Then, a ball of light slowly grew, bigger and brighter with each second, illuminating the room around it and consuming the wand that had produced it. He held Y/n close as the white light closed in. He braced himself as the light consumed him, Still clinging to Y/n.
