Jake woke up one morning much later than he normally did. He spent most of his night reading a very interesting story he found online. It was a romance (he had a soft spot for romance stories) and the story inspired him to (maybe) finally tell Ariel how he felt.

Each house search had been unsuccessful, So to make up for that, Ariel began doing a majority of Jake's chores for him, to show her thanks.

When Jake drowsily made his way downstairs, he found Ariel doing the dishes from last nights supper.

"Air..." He used her nickname, "You didn't have to do that. I know you hate dishes."

"You hate them too, Jake," Ariel glanced at him, smiling at his 'fresh-out-of-bed' look.

"I know, but you were the one who cooked last night."

"Yeah... And your point is?"

"We agreed that whoever cooked, they weren't the ones to clean," Jake reiterated the rule.

"But I'm staying in your company, I wanted to do this, Jake," Ariel said, draining the dish water, "We might as well be married if we are setting rules about cooking and cleaning," she joked, then blushed when she realized what she said.

Jake chuckled, and started making his coffee, "Hey Ariel, can we talk?"

Ariel's stomach fluttered as she dried her hands, "S-sure, what's up?"

"I don't think we should go house searching anymore..." He began

"Did something happen?" Ariel asked, worried.

"Technically yes, but nothing bad."

"Then what, Jake?"

"You happened. I was so lonely in this house, but then you arrive and things have been much better... And I'd like to extend an invitation to move in with me, permanently," he kept trying to hold eye contact with the vampire.

"I..." She began

"I don't mean to sound creepy," Jake cut her off, "I just..."

"Shh," Ariel held a finger up, "I would love to, Jake."

"Oh, that's wonderful!" He engulfed her in a giant hug, then blushed when he realized what he was doing. However, Ariel melted into the hug, and that made Jake relax.

"That seriously takes so much stress off of me," Ariel smiled, looking more relieved than Jake had ever seen her.

"You have helped out so much, it's the least I could do," Jake explained.

Ariel, still in his hug, looked up at him.

"I'm so glad we are friends."

Jake's face almost immediately flushed with red, "Yeah... About that, there is something else I have been meaning to ask of you."

"Go ahead, Jake."

They were still in each other's arms as Jake suppressed his nerves and opened his mouth to speak.

"Ariel... I these past few months have been some of the best ones for me. Will... Will you be my girlfriend?"

Ariel felt paralyzed for a split second, then regained her movements, gladly shaking her head yes.

Jake smiled his biggest smile yet, "I'm so happy."

The vampire felt very good about making someone happy. It made her feel that she can finally get ahold of her powers, all thanks to Jake.

The coffee machine quit brewing, and the smell of coffee filled the air. Jake released her from his hold.

"How about we celebrate over a cup?" He suggested.

"I'd like that," Ariel accepted.
