Chapter Four

The four of us were leaning on the railing looking over the school. I had Makoto on my left and Nagisa on my right, Haru was last on Nagisa's right. I felt a small poke in my arm and when I turned my head to look it was Makoto with what looked like fried squid and a smile on his face. I accepted with a small thank you and took a piece of squid. It was delicious to begin with and Makoto could notice that I liked it, because I had sparkles in my eyes, of how good it was.

"Look guys cherry blossoms next to the pool, the landscaping is similar to the one on your junior high right Haruka?"

"Stop calling me that"

"But isn't it that your name" I could feel Haru about to blow, thank God Mako change the subject

"The cherry blossoms are a nice touch, yet, the pool never gets used here"

"Oh right, when I meet the principal this morning he did mention that the school did not have a swim team, and all the equipment was in the storage next to the pool" I mention while I finish the piece of squid that Mako gave me

"Well that sucks, where do you guys swim these days?"

" I don't" Both Haru and I said at the same time. I could feel the gasp from both Makoto and Nagisa

"At least not competitively" I clarified to which Haru agree with a head nod, meaning that he also stop competing

"YOU STOP COMPETING!!!" Nagisa literally screamed in our faces, "BOTH OF YOU!!! THAT'S SO UNFAIR I HAVE BEEN WAITING SOO LONG TO BE REUNITED SO ALL OF US CAN COMPETE OR AT LEAST RAISE! " He continues to scream while grabbing his face in desperation

"Nagisa, relax and lower your voice. I know Haru has stopped swimming competitively for a long time now, but that doesn't mean he stopped swimming at all. He needs water as much as we need air. So he only swims in the sea during summer, or if it is too cold you can find him in his bath like this morning."

" That's not even the same thing" Nagisa whine

"I do agree with Nagi on this one" I completed, but at that moment I realized it was a bad idea that I said something, because the three turned their gaze on me and that only meant that they would start questioning me.

"Now, what I don't know is why you stopped swimming Toru?" Makoto said turning completely to look at me

"Yes! Toru-onesan, why did you stop? You were the best of the girls at the swimming Club, that's why we called you mermaid. You won first place in multiple competitions. Remember our last relay where the five won and got the trophy, right before you and Rin left?!? It was ama-" I could feel Nagisa's pleading look while he kept talking, I just opted to look behind us where I could see a familiar face.

Gou was sitting having lunch with a friend, yet she was looking directly at us paying attention to our conversation. I wonder why she didn't approach us? Does she not remember the guys, I wonder why she just opted to stare.

Makoto POV

Toru stopped Swimming? That to me appears to be unreal, as I remember she loved to be in the water as much as Haru did, if not more that is why we gave her the nickname of mermaid. So what could have caused her to stop swimming? I could hear Nagisa keep talking to her, but I can see that her mind was somewhere else. I followed where her gaze was directed to and it was to a couple of girls behind us, but she was just looking at the girl with burgundy hair tied back in a ponytail. It seems as if they were having a silent conversation between them. I could not comprehend why, but that girl looks familiar to me. Said girl then directed her gaze to me and without words she just gave me a serious head nod, which surprised me. Does she know me? Where do I know her from?
