Colby sat comfortably on the sofa, thanking Vanya for the alcohol and Five continued to speak "I survived on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, anything I could find." Vanya was carefully listening, while Colby tried to desperately hide his headache that came back again. "You know that rumour that Twinkies have an endless shelf life?" Colby nodded, yet didn't really listen to what his mate was saying, while Vanya hesitantly nodded "Well it's bullshit. But you do whatever you can to survive" He spoke. Glancing at Colby, Five furrowed his brows, when he saw Colby's distant look, his jaw shut tightly, Five was sure it would break any minute now. "So, we adapted. Whatever the world threw at us, we found a way to overcome it" He said, looking carefully at Colbs. "We?" Vanya asked but Five ignored them, asking for something stronger and Vanya quickly gave Five the same alcohol Colby was drinking. Seeing Vanya's reluctant look and the silence made Five sigh. "You think I'm crazy," Vanya was a bit too quick to object to the accusations "No, it's just... it's a lot to take in" Colby was the one to finally speak and it calmed Five a little, but his voice was strained as if in pain, though he tried to speak softly to his favourite sibling "V, it is a lot, we get it but what is it that you exactly don't understand?" The violinist looked between the two and sighed "Why didn't you just... time travel back?" Five rolled his eyes "Gee, wish I'd thought of that." Colby sent a look at Five "Look, time travel is a crapshoot. He went into the ice and never a-corned" Five quickly interrupted his lover and took Colby's hand "You think I didn't try everything to get back to my family?" The taller male just sighed and Vanya seeing this, tried to ask about something different "If you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a teen?" Five was getting agitated. A week to stop the end of the world, and a person he trusted most right after Colby was asking stupid questions. "I told you already. I must have got the equations wrong" He said but Vanya continued, thinking that maybe Reggie was right "I mean, dad always used to say that..." Colby cut her off this time "Time travel could mess up your mind? V, the old bastard said a lot of shit" Vanya looked between the two men/teens and smiled sadly "Yes, but maybe that's what is really happening?" Five had enough, he stood up, bringing Colby to stand as well "This was a mistake. You're too young... too naive to understand" Vanya didn't want to let the two go. As much as Five was barely even there throughout the years, V missed him dearly because he was the only other sibling, apart from Colby, who actually didn't mind them and tolerated them. "No, Five... Colbs, wait! I haven't seen you in a long time, and I don't want to lose you again" Five rose his brow and Colby smiled at them reassuringly "That's all. And you know what, it's getting late, and... I have lessons early, and I need to sleep, and I'm sure you do too" They gave the two men some blankets and pillows, making sure they would be comfortable "Here. We'll talk in the morning, again. Okay? I promise." Vanya looked at them with big pleading eyes and Colby nodded his head, while Five followed Colby to the sofa. "Sleep well, V" Colby called out to them, while Five and V said a soft "night" before V disappeared into the bedroom, leaving the two men alone. Five watched as Colby stood up, groaning softly, trying to hide his aching expression and failing, as a sudden wave of stabbing pain washed over his body. Five was quick on his feet and supporting his lover "If you think I will believe you if you say you're okay, then you might as well tell me that you don't love me" Colby huffed "As if I would ever say that, Fivers" The shorter man sat Colby down on the sofa and checked Colby for any injuries that may have been still open and causing Colby to hurt all over. But there was none "What is happening, Colbs? Talk to me" But Colby wasn't entirely sure what was happening. He was sure, however, that it had to do with his real family. The sudden change in behaviour, the accent and sudden knowledge of things he shouldn't be aware of. There was no mistake that his mind and soul were making him remember and behave like his real parents. "It's nothing serious, Fivers. It will pass, but please, please, for the love of gods, trust me and you will know everything at the right time, alright?" Five was unsure. Whatever was happening, Colby was determined and persistent to hide the truth from everyone, even him. "I trust you, alright? With my life. But you are hurting and it makes me angry and sad not knowing how to help you" Colby chuckled softly at how sweet Five was. After all under this whole "I don't care, I am the best and know everything" attitude, the man/teen was actually a softie. "You cannot help me, love. But your presence is sufficient for me to feel better" Five rolled his eyes "It's not exactly a time to be romantic, Colby" He scolded the taller man and Colby just huffed "I am more interested in that eye, you have found, love. Show it to me" Five made a "are you serious?' look and didn't move until Colby rose his brow and grinned like an idiot "This will not stop your pain, Colbs. Stop trying to avoid the conversation" Colby looked innocently, though the pain made him grimace "Changing the subject of our conversation doesn't mean I'm avoiding it. I told you that you will know everything at the right time, now shush and show me the eye" Five knew he lost the fight, the moment he scolded Colby. Although hesitant and still worried for his lover, Five took the eye out and showed it to the blue-eyed man. "Here, happy?" He snarkily asked, giving Colby the eye "Satisfied, love. Now, what are you hiding, you little troublemaker, eh? Spill your secrets..." Five rolled his eyes, yet an adoring smile softly pushed its way onto his lips, while he observed his long-lost lover curiously studying the glass eye.
