The sky was a mix of red and dark blue, swirling together. The moon shining brightly through the hazy pink-tinted fog and clouds. The Ruins of Origin laid crumbled even more then it had before the incident that occurred moments before.
The Light and the Wishgranter were gone now, and the world was left in shambles because of the sacrifice. Distortion was banished to the otherworld after two mysterious beings that resembled both Time and Space put them away for good. The portal that sent the disorientating beast away violently fazed in and out of reality in a glitchy manner when the beast was thrown in, before promptly closing moments after.
The otherworld was then dubbed the Distortion world, named after the beast that resides in it. Ever since then, the Pokemon world was never the same again, and this continues till this day.
"Or at least, that's what the legend says." said a small, brown fox-like creature to no one in particular. He closed a black book with golden words on the cover that read: 'Light, Time and Space: The full legend (For Kids!)' The book was softly placed on a stone platform that appeared to be a make-shift table, the brown fox lived in a burrow that contained chunks of stone and other rocks in the walls, which were used to make furniture.
The brown creature's fuzzy ears twitched as it listened to the outside noises, and the faraway echoes of his own voice. It was Nighttime for the animal, and even at the darkest time of the night, the red still peaks through the black, and the moon shines through the red. That's how it's always been. Can it really be considered a legend if nothing has been done to fix it?
The fox heard footsteps outside of his burrow and tensed. However, his anxiety quickly subsided as it was his friend, Happiny. A cheerful small, round pink creature with fluffy curls on her head, she had darker pink skin on the lower half of her that contained a pouch similar to a kangaroo. Happiny, however, looks nothing like one. This pouch contained an oval semi-flat stone that Happiny tried to convince him was an egg. It obviously wasn't, but he wouldn't tell her that.
"Eevee! Eevee!" Happiny called for him in a high-pitched chirpy voice. At a glance, Eevee could see the dark shadowed-out silhouette of his friend's figure in the mahogany colored sky. "Yes, Happiny?" Eevee called back with a practiced curious tone to his voice. Turning fully to look at his friend straight in the face, or turning to look at what he could see.
"Look! Look! Look what I found!" Happiny whispered-yelled to him, making her voice echo throughout the burrow, and before giving Eevee a chance to even think, she ran off.
Eevee sputtered as he saw his friend's quickly shrinking form in the night sky. Hurriedly grabbing a hand-made leather pouch of his own, he launched out of the burrow with his incredible speed to catch up with her. "Wait up!" he shouted for her, secretly hoping a Braviary wouldn't swoop down and catch his best (and only) friend. She was bite sized, after all.
Meanwhile, Happiny was running to wherever she was headed to, without a care in the world. Rambling on about some cool stone artifacts she had seen on her way over here, which was what Happiny had wanted to show him in the first place. Or at least, that's what he thinks she's saying. He's not really paying attention.
"Watch out!" Happiny suddenly called, right before Eevee hit a hard surface face first. He groaned and shook his head violently to try and shake out the pain, which only made him dizzy. Eevee sighed and looked up at the flat sturdy surface he hit his head on. It was larger than him and Happiny combined, and had engravings that looked similar to something he'd seen before.
These engravings glowed a dark blue glow, making Eevee's eyes shine in awe. There was another stone platform right next to it, with the same engraving, this time in a dark pink color. There were also three smaller stone rocks near the larger ones. They had simple circle engravings on them, one light blue, the next light pink, and the third light yellow.
Eevee recognized all of these. The pictures from the book. The engravings on the stone resemble the symbols of Time, and Space. Those on the smaller rocks are Knowledge, Willpower, and Emotion. Beings of the universe that brought life and feeling to humans and pokemon combined. But where is Light? The Wishgranter?
The grass around his friend crunched satisfyingly as Happiny turned to look at him, "There were two more a while ago. They might have been destroyed by another pokemon.." Happiny explained, noticing his obvious confusion laced on his face. Eevee's confused face suddenly morphed into something more peculiar, "Ohh.." Eevee mumbled. However, on the inside, this only made Eevee more curious and even more confused.
He turned to look at the stone artifacts again, then at the ground they stood tall on. He tilted his head and looked closely behind the ones with the darker colored engravings, and noticed crumbled pieces of stone and rock. Eevee made an odd strangled noise, someone had destroyed some of them.
But who? Is the only question that clouded his mind. Eevee and Happiny stood there for a while in a tense silence for a while. This stayed true until Eevee heard his friend take a deep inhale, and silently prepared himself for word vomit in the next few seconds. Except, the only thing that came out was; "I think we should get to the bottom of this." Happiny muttered, looking at Eevee.
The only thing Eevee could do was look back and smile.
