Chapter 14

I couldn't believe it! I had spent a lot of time with Brysen and yet only now did I realise that he was my mate. How is that even possible?

"Liz."

"Yes?"

"You okay?" He asked for the thousand time tonight. After I came here I told him what had happened and just sat on the couch thinking about the mate thing. That incident was now pushed in the back of my mind, now I was more shocked about the fact that I had a mate.

"How?! How is this possible?!" I have never been so confused in my life.

"Sometimes when people bottle many emotions, they put walls around themself to shield themselves from negative emotions unconsciously this also happens for any other emotion. We also bury our wolf deep so they aren't able to sense their soulmate either."

"Why now? And since when did you know?"

"Well we could say that something happened that made your walls crumble or a crack. And as for the other question. I had my doubts since the incident with the pie but I felt it when you fainted at the parking lot." Now that makes sense.

I don't know how to feel about this. Most people feel happiness when they meet the one that is meant for them. Their life just got ten times better, hell even hundred times better. But I on the other hand don't know what to feel. I mean it's Brysen. Alpha Brysen of the Thunder pack and me. Elizabeth. Just broken, empty, useless Elizabeth. I can't do this right now! I need to leave!

I looked at the door. I can make it in two seconds but then what? I'll shift and run. But where will I go? Home? No he will search for me there first. Lily's house? No, he can enter Herons pack whenever he wants. Milton's? Too far. Dean's? Hate him. I'll go to Fey's, he can't find me there.

I stared at Brysen who hadn't removed his eyes from me. "Can you get me a glass of water?" He stared at me but didn't say anything instead complied. The moment he was out of the room I bolted out. I was out of the building in seconds, I looked behind me he wasn't there but when I looked up, he was standing on the balcony, his hands rested on the railing and was staring down at me. He opened his mouth "Go on run as much as you want, Lizzie." He said and smirked. I couldn't hear him but I read his lips. Shivers ran through my body but I ignored them.

He knew! He knew that I was going to run away and he let me. Not that he didn't want me, but because he loves the hunt, he loves to see me struggle when it comes to him. I turned around and did what I knew best. I ran as fast as possible. He knows it, even I know it that when he finds me this time there is no going back. Not this time. This time I won't be able to refuse him.

"Oh,Elizabeth. Welcome!" Eden opened the door. Yep I went to my best friend's house. She lives with her annoying husband who for some reason I can't seem to like even though he is nice to everyone, even me, who treats him like crap. I mean I don't totally hate him like I used to instead I tolerate him... Okay maybe I tolerate him only a bit... Okay fine I don't tolerate him at all, I take pleasure in bullying him.

"Yeah, yeah." I pushed past him and went for the living room where I knew I would find Fey.

Fey was gorgeous! Don't get me wrong me and Lily are both good looking but Fey was another level. You would expect someone with her looks would be holding herself high but no. She was humble, patient and she is dating a cashier. Yeah sure he quit and has started a business but still, he was a cashier when she started dating him. I mean does this girl realize her potential.

"Liz!" She looked happy to see me.

"Fey!" I said and hugged her

"What brings you here? " She spoke, breaking from our hug. "At midnight?" She raised her eyebrow.
