Seven school mysteries host Secret Santa each year. Each participant secretly receives name of the person they must prepare a gift for. When Nene and Kou heard about this, they wanted to join, and Hanako allowed this.
Since school mysteries cannot leave school, they decided to go to one of the boundaries for the event. This year it was №3's spiral hall of mirrors.
The hall was decorated with multiple LED lights. With the main light dimmed the colorful lights kept reflecting endlessly in the mirrors, creating mysterious mood.
It was time to unpack the gifts!
School mystery №1, keeper of the past, Kako got several tubes holding scrolls. He unrolled one of them to read. The paper looked aged. "I see... sacred texts from Misaki shrine. This brings memories."
School mystery №1, keeper of the present, Akane, unpacked a large rectangular box. It was fireworks. "I guess fireworks are nice. But why would it be fireworks?" he thought.
School mystery №1, keeper of the future, Mirai, received a large serving of flan pudding within a glass case. She immediately ate it all. "Yummi!"
School mystery №2, Yako, received a pack of thick noodles. Yes... it was actually udon. "Damn you, №7!" she thought. Hanako was smiling with his widest smile.
School mystery №3, Mitsuba, got a photo album. Title said it was by Mitsuba Sousuke, but he did not recognize it. He browsed through it. A picture of sunset, close up of a flower, a puppy, clouds on a rainy day. "So this is the kind of pictures I used to take," he thought. A bunch of nestlings, some kittens, a picture of double rainbow. No people though. He flipped the page. The last photo in the album was a picture of Kou in the sunset. "What the hell is he doing here?!" Mitsuba did not remember taking this picture.
School mystery №4, Shijima, unpacked her present. A pair of glasses? She tried them on. What she saw surprised her. The entire realm was murky and unstable, and looked like it was made of dark smoke. She could barely see the other school mysteries. The only people she could see normally were Kou and Nene. Apparently, with these glasses on you could see the world as a human would. "That would be useful for drawing school without a Mokke in the picture."
School mystery №5, Tsuchigomori-sensei, received his portrait. In it, he was smoking his pipe and blowing three smoke rings. As they moved further, they changed their shape and color. In the dim holiday lightning it seemed that the picture was moving.
School mystery №6 was not present. "He could not make it," explained Hanako. "He only appears once a year, and he has already done it in the summer."
School mystery №7, Hanako-kun, unpacked a rectangular box. It was a 2000 pieces all-white pieces puzzle. "Baffling!" "It never ends!" it stated on the box. Hanako hugged the box.
Nene received a small box. Inside it there was a small plain rock, but she instantly recognized it. It was the moon stone. "No matter what anyone says, it is the moon rock!" she thought.
Kou received a lot of candies. A lot of them. "Huh? I thought Satou was not participating?" was his first thought.
