Waiting For You [TaeJin] ✓

Part 1 - "Goodbyes & Fate"

Seokjin smiled ruefully seeing Taehyung sitting below the cherry blossoms, gloomy, sulking and playing with the grasses while hiding his face in between his folded knees.

Seokjin walks closer towards Taehyung and stands a little away from him.

Taehyung stiffened. He must have felt Seokjin's presence but decided to ignore.

Not for long though. Just after few seconds Taehyung couldn't ignore him and so he looked up, with unshed tears in his eyes.

Seokjin saw Taehyung looking him up and down, taking on his appearance. Seokjin was dressed in his military uniform, his cap in his hand while his buzz cut in open. His appearance made him look adorable, buff, strong and brave to Taehyung, but at the same time it made all this more real and heartbreaking.

He couldn't help himself but release all those tears now and successfully breaking Seokjin's heart in pieces with that.

Nothing hurt him more than seeing his Taehyung cry.

"Voo!" Seokjin called gently. But that made Taehyung whimper and let out a sob.

Without wasting any second Seokjin sat down beside Taehyung and took him in his arms. Embracing Taehyung tighter and closer.

"Please don't go." Taehyung mumbled shakily. His face hidden in crook of Seokjin's neck and his tears wetting the latter's skin.

Seokjin tightened his hold on Taehyung more as an answer, "You know that's not possible Tae."

It's true. This is war time. The government of their country had requested the civil citizens to help the Army if they please, as the actual Army members are most likely less to win this war if things go out of hand more than it already is. So, they want to recruit as many new people as they can, just till the war time.

Being son of an ex-army officer, Seokjin can't say no to his country when he is needed. It will be disrespect towards his father's name and honestly growing up in family full of soldiers, he just had that pure and strong patriotic feeling. He won't be able to live with himself either if he backed out right now. Generally he is just patriotic but not at all interested in being a soldier and his family is ok with it.

But this isn't just a general case and so he has to go.

"Then take me with you." Taehyung said again, desperately.

"You know that's not possible either, Voo."

That's impossible actually. The only condition government put forward for people who can join the war is they should be 21 or more than 21 in age. They should know basic fighting skills (all male citizens here have basic training after turning 18).

Seokjin just turned 21 few days ago, on December 4th. Today is 13th December and Taehyung still has days left to even turn 18. So, him coming along with Seokjin is not even an option.
