Chapter 25

"Jimmy, wake up!"

Jimmy slowly opened his eyes, still adjusting from the sudden event. His head was throbbing as if he had hit something, he sat up and felt the blanket slide off his chest.

'Wait, a blanket?'

He looked around to find that he was in his own bedroom and a familiar face standing beside him. His breath caught in his throat.

"Don't act surprised, we gotta go before the others notice us."

'Danny... he's alive...'

"Um...Hello? Are we gonna go or not?"

Jimmy shook his head, snapping out of his daze. But he was confused by the question.

"Wait, where?" Jimmy asked.

"Did you already forget? We were supposed to sneak out to the asylum remember? Since you wanted to get proof so badly."

'The asylum...'

"Now come on, the sooner we leave, the quicker we come back." Danny said, turning around to head out of the room.

"Actually Danny, I changed my mind," Jimmy quickly stated before Danny headed out.

Danny stops in his tracks and turns to look at Jimmy in bewilderment.

"What?"

"I've been thinking about it for a while and decided it's not worth the trouble, you can go back to bed."

Danny looked relieved but was still befuddled.

"Ok, if you say so." Danny trailed off, slowly heading out of Jimmy's room.

When the door closes, he waits a little while before getting off his bed. He found that he was still wearing his lab coat, but he didn't care. His mind was set on more important things.

'The wand must've granted my wish. If I'm correct, the others might still be in their rooms.'

Quickly and quietly, he went to check the other rooms.

First, in Timmy's room, he could tell It was a little messy as usual in the dark but he wasn't bothered by that in the slightest. At least not yet. He saw Timmy on his bed sleeping in an awkward position. Next to Spongebob's room, he was there too. Danny was already confirmed.

'Lastly Y/n.'

He went towards her front door, walking past Goddard and Scarlett who were snuggled together in the hallway. he cracked the door open just enough to peek inside. There she was, sleeping peacefully under the blanket. Jimmy widened the door, walked inside, and closed it behind him.

Jimmy's POV

I looked down at Y/n as she continued to sleep, her H/C hair illuminated by the moonlight through her window. I still remember that haunting memory of her blood flowing on the ground. I clenched my fist tightly. 'No, I will never let that happen again.' I was about to wake her when something caught my eye. Next to her, under the blankets was a folded piece of paper. Despite my curiosity, I decided to wake her up first.

"Y/n. Y/n, wake up."

"Huh?" Y/n sat up, wiping the sleepiness off her eyes. "Is it morning already?"

"Yes, but it's early," I answered. It was 12:15.

"What are you doing up this early?" She asked.

"I just came to check on you, that's all, how are you doing?" I asked, still remembering the night at the beach.

She let out a sigh, then got up. Beckoning me out of her room.

"Let's talk in the living room." I watched as she grabbed the paper from under the blankets.

I nodded and we both headed out of her room.

~~~That day~~~

"Hello! what would you like to order today?"

Jimmy asked Y/n if she wanted to go out to eat, she agreed and wanted to bring the others along with them for some company. So when the others woke up they told them if they wanted to join, and of course, they too agreed to go. All of them decided to go to the same place they invited Y/n. When they got there, they all sat at the round table to make room for Y/n.

"Let's see here..." Spongebob said rather to himself, still looking at the menu.

Jimmy, Danny, and Y/n had already placed their orders while Timmy and Spongebob were still deciding.

"Thank you for taking me out to eat again." Y/n thanked Jimmy and Danny as Spongebob and Timmy finally placed their orders.

"No problem, it's been a while since we all ate out together. It's nice to be out of the house once in a while." Danny said with a smile.

"It's nice to eat together with friends!" Spongebob agreed, putting his arms around both Timmy and Danny grinning.

Y/n smiled, but then it faded as she looked down. They all notice this with worried expressions. Danny was the first to speak.

"Is there something wrong?"

Y/n looked up, seeing that all eyes were on her.

"I...It's just that I never really had friends back home, or a nice family for that matter and I thought I would always be alone. But then I met all of you, and you all have been so nice to me since we first met. I thought I would never fit in as much but you all cared for me..." She began to tear up

"Y/n..."

"Which is why I wanted to stay with all of you... If you don't mind another member." She trailed off, wiping a tear from her cheeks.

They all looked at each other and then at Y/n with warm smiles.

"Of course,  you're part of the team now. But you did help us a lot too."

"Yeah, like helping me in the kitchen," Spongebob added.

"Or treating our wounds after a tough battle with the syndicate." Timmy joined in.

"And looking after the house while we are away, the thing is we are happy that you're staying with us. And we are glad you came." Jimmy ended.

Y/n almost choked up. "Thank you, everyone."

Soon they all gathered together in a warm embrace and Y/n knew she won't feel alone anymore.

It's not over yet, there's still an epilogue to go.
