Natsu POV

When I finally stopped running from whomever had tried to follow me out of the cafe, I leaned against a random buildings wall and slowly slid down to the ground and just sat there. I'm sure Gray will find me soon enough. As soon as I walked out I started running and ducked down between several different buildings alleyways. We were after all in the middle of town. In the past year I'd learned how to lose people when I wanted to be alone.

I hated doing that to her but it's better this way. Telling her I don't love her anymore is the only way I know she'll move on. I don't deserve her after all that I've put her through. She deserves someone who can be there for her when she needs them the most. That's clearly not me considering every time she's had tears in her eyes I've turned my back on her. The first time being the day she left. I tried so hard to catch her. I should've jumped into the car with her instead of staying where I stood then chasing after her.

After I apologized to her I couldn't get us almost kissing out of my head. I kept wanting to jump up on the table and kiss her in front of everyone when she looked at me. I couldn't stand it anymore so I abruptly got up and walked as calmly as I could to the bathroom where I proceeded to pace back and fourth, combing my fingers through my hair. When Gray walked in I paced a few more times and then put my hands on the sink in front of one of the mirrors, looking down into the sink.

"Flame brain, what's up? I thought you went out there to apologize. Aren't you guys good now? You look like it from just looking at the two of you."

"Ice princess, now is not the time to annoy me." I said looking at him to which he raised his hands in surrender and then crossed his arms leaning against the wall of the bathroom.

"We're fine. She accepted my apology, hugged it out and then we came back inside." I said sighing now looking at my disheveled hair and pink cheeks in the mirror.

"Okay, so then what's the issue. And what's up with your face being all pink? Don't tell me you're actually feeling the heat of your wings for once?" He asked.

"No. Gray. The spice isn't getting to me." I said less than amused.

"So then what Natsu?"

"We... She.. I.. UGH!" I uttered as I threw my hands back in my hair and began to pace again.

"Are you mad at her again?"

"No! The opposite." I sighed as I sat on the floor criss cross sauce apple sauce, earning a strange look from Gray.

He didn't say anything and sat on the floor with me waiting for me to explain.

"Shetriedtokissme." I said rushed.

"What did you say?"

"ShetriedtokissmeandIalmostkissedhertoobutIpushedheraway."

"Natsu. English please." Gray sighed in annoyance.

"After I apologized she hugged me and said she forgave me and missed me too. We hugged for a bit but then she leaned in to kiss me." I saw a smirk form on Grays face. "I started leaning in too but before we actually kissed I pushed her away." I finished rubbing the back of my neck.

Gray proceeded to throw his head back and give a, very. Long annoyed sigh. Followed with flicking my forehead which just pissed me off.

"Dude! Why did you do that? That would've been the perfect moment! Were you nervous or something? That didn't stop you when you guys were younger." He sounded like Levy gossiping to Lucy about girl stuff.
