(a/n: i made this fic gender neutral! it's actually a rewrite of an old fic i previously wrote for a friend of mine, i just decided to share it :) p. s. if you have a fear of thunderstorms/loud noises, this one's for you! i apologise for how dead I am here btw TT)

The rain and thunder... well, thundered outside of your apartment. Your faint heart simultaneously pounded against your chest. Ever since young, you've always been afraid of loud noises, especially the thunder during unruly storms like these. Hugging your knees close to yourself, you stifled another incoming sob as the rain continued to threaten your sensitive ears. Tears stung your eyes, forcing itself to roll down your petrified face.

Shaking, you slowly picked up your phone. staring at the dim, glowing screen, you pressed open the "phone" app, immediately typing a very familiar phone number into the system.

"Jungwon..." your trembling voice muttered, all while another lightning struck. You couldn't hold it back anymore. terrified tears wet your cheeks and you let out a gasp. "I don't like the rain..."

"Awh, my baby... don't cry. I'm busy but.. do you want me to come over?"
"No, i don't want to trouble you. I just needed reassura-"

You were about to respond, when the loudest thunder roared, scaring you so bad it caused you to jump. "Yeah... yeah... it's okay." you managed to whisper.

"It'll be alright, baby." Jungwon softly responded. His heart ached hearing your sobs, even he teared up a little. "Calm down~ it's okay. It'll be over soon. How about I stick with you throughout the storm?" he suggested, his soft voice music to your ears. You liked that idea.

About half an hour into the night-long storm, the rain calmed down, and so did you. A peaceful ambience surrounded you and the virtual presence of Jungwon.

"Wonie?" you suddenly spoke up amidst the silence.

"Yeah?"

"...I love you"

"I know" Jungwon teased, chuckling.

"No really, I love you so much, Yang Jungwon. I'm so happy to have you, to be yours."

"You're so cheesy."

"That's it? That's all I get as a response?"

"I'm kidding baby, I love you too. Probably more than you love me.... ah with this atmosphere right now,, I... kinda want to kiss you."

You blushed.
"But you aren't physically here-"

"I can try kissing you through the phone?" Jungwon awkwardly replied, chuckling sheepishly.

You laughed at his cuteness.
"Thank you for sticking with me through the storm by the way."

"No need to thank me, love, I'm always here for you."

He never failed to make you laugh. He is the most precious boy you've ever met, you never want to let him go. You love him so much, you still do.
