We walked into the bistro to find Nick and Leanne standing at the bar.
"Hello lovely little ladies, table for three?"
"No four please, mum will be here soon"
"Coming right up" he said before grabbing some menus and taking us to a booth at the back. I sat down with Bella next to me and Elsa next to her. Nick gave them both an activity book to do as he gave me the menus.
"So Elsa you want that pasta you had last time?"
"Yes please"
"And Bella, what do you-" my phone buzzed and I reached into my pocket for it.
It was from mum. Don't wait for me, the girls will be hungry, hopefully I'll be there soon.

"Mummy's gonna be here soon, ok? Bella what do you want to eat?"
"Chicken nuggets and chips"
"Ok" I said as I looked at my menu.
"Isla what are you having?" Elsa said as she looked up from her colouring.
"I don't know, what do you think? Maybe prawn pasta or lasagne?"
"Prawn pasta, cos I'm having tomato pasta" she said before going back to her colouring.
"Ok I will" I said and I replied to mum.
We will, hope you're ok? The girls are fine, just sat down in the bistro, love you
No less than a minute later I got a reply from mum saying
Love you too, might have my phone off, I have to go and identify the body
As I read it, my body shivered and I felt weak. What if that was my little brother lying there? But what if it wasn't and he's still out there? I thought to myself before nick came over. I told him our order.

A while later, we had finished eating and mum walked through the door. She came and sat down next to me and tried to act happy for the girls but I could see she was upset. Nick came over,
"What can I get you Carla?" He said,
"Glass of wine would be nice" she said, nick could see that she was stressed.
"Coming up, hey Bella, Elsa how about I show you how the ice cream machine works" nick said, before winking at mum.
"Thank you" she mouthed as he took them off into the kitchen. Mum turned to me and rested her head on my shoulder.
"It wasn't him Isla, it wasn't my little boy" she said.
"Thats good, mum that's good, that means that Harry is still out there somewhere"
"But that means that someone else's little boy is lying on that slab in that hospital"
"I know, I know" I said as I stroked her hair.
"But it means that those little girls might get their baby brother back and you might get our little man back"
"Yeah I know" she said, as she saw the girls running back with a bowl of ice cream each. She quickly sat up and wiped her eyes, before taking he glass from nick.
"Thank you"
