"Dante, I think you've had enough to drink." I chuckled as I moved his hand off of my thigh.
"Nah, sweetheart. I'm just getting started." He said smugly and leaned closer to me after taking another sip of his beer. I could smell it on his breath, and it took everything in me not to vomit.
"I'll take my leave now." V scoffed as he headed inside the van.
"V, wait--" I started, but the door shut before he could hear me. I glared at Dante, who was grinning like an idiot, like he'd done something to be proud of.
"Now, where were we, sweetheart?" He turned back towards me and slurred.
"I was getting up to go talk to V." I rolled my eyes and started to stand up, but a hand firmly grasped my wrist and pulled me down onto Dante's lap.
"Hey, what the hell, man?" Nero yelled in surprise at him.
"I don't think you heard me. I said, where were we? Besides, why would you want him when I'm right here?" He chuckled and gestured towards himself.
"Dante, get off me!" I slapped him across the face and stood back up to head inside the van. I started walking, but before I come reach the door, two large hands pushed me into the side of the van, pinning me there. I looked into his eyes and fear washed over me. They were full of anger and drunken desire.
"That's enough! Get the fuck off of her!" Nero ran over and shoved Dante away from me, knocking him to the ground. He stood up and brushed himself off.
"Fucking bitch." He scoffed as he walked away. Nero gave me a smile and followed him to make sure he didn't get into any more trouble.

I opened the door of the van and saw V sitting on the couch reading his book. I sat down on the couch in front of him and smiled at him.
"Hey." I almost whispered. He looked up at me with pain in his eyes.
"Hey." He whispered back and closed his book. Always the gentleman. I leaned a bit closer to him so he could hear me better.
"V... I-" I started, but was cut off.
"It's quite alright. You don't have to explain anything to me. It's your business." He shook his head and said in a shaky voice. I frowned and stood up to go over to him. I sat beside him and took his hand gently. He looked at me in confusion and cocked his head.
"V, Dante was drunk. As soon as you left, I tried to come talk to you. I don't feel that way towards him." I squeezed his hand a bit harder. He started to blush and looked away slightly, the red tint easy to see in his pale complexion.
"Besides, he's not you." I whispered as my face began to match his in color.
"What?" He gasped and snapped his head back to look at me once more. His hair swaying slightly, and his green eyes wide in shock.
"Nothing. Forget it." I shook my head and stood up to walk away.

I turned away from him when I felt a hand gently grab my wrist and stop me. V was standing behind me, looking at the ground and still holding my wrist. He had a sad but serious expression on his face. He towered a foot and a few inches over me.
"V? Are you--" I was cut off by him quickly leaning down to my face and kissing me. I jumped slightly in surprise, but quickly realized what was happening and rubbed his cheek softly with my hand. He lifted my chin and gently pressed his tongue to my bottom lip, asking for a deeper kiss. I happily parted my lips and granted him permission, which he gladly took advantage of. We both broke away gasping for a breath of air.
"Forgive me, but I've imagined doing that for so long." He pressed his forehead to mine and quietly gasped for air.
"There's nothing to forgive. I wanted it as well." I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, holding him close.
