Khonshu didn't need to know Y/n was back. He didn't need to know Y/n was thrown into a dark hole she had dug herself in. And he especially didn't need to know she was now rejecting any and all terms of her immortality. The skeleton of a bird didn't need to know she was now using illusions and fake names. Now, if someone did tell him- he would've sent everything in his power to stop her. And then kill whatever hole she was hiding in. But Y/n wasn't the same rambunctious spike-collared wolf god she was before. Ever since her- accident, she had never felt more lost. She barely even spoke.Y/n was just a shadow of Wepwawet and everything she was. But that let her fit in the new generation, sunken and depressed seemed to be the new casual for Earth. She had her issues with her immortality before, but now she felt even more lost. Most people didn't even believe in her brothers and sisters anymore. Khonsu was even just a legend in their eyes. And maybe that was for the best, Y/n saw what people's beliefs could do to them.
Her eyes pierced the statue in front of her, finding a man approaching the artifact too. The brunette peeked at the figure, the great Anubis. The man glances at Y/n, the whole museum was full of old parents or teachers. "School Project?" Doctor Banner asks, and she turns to him. "No, just- looking." Women, especially ones at her age weren't allowed an education when she was alive. This would be the moment she would walk away, but something about him intrigued her. He smelled different. He smelled significantly different, he didn't feel alone in that body of his. "I don't think I've seen anyone your age take interest in stuff like this." He admits.
"I'm older than you think." Not a lie, but short of the truth. "Old soul. I've been told the same before." Y/n focused her eyes back on the glass-covered exhibit. "What do you know about Anubis?" She shrugs, "Too much. Way too much." This was also the truth, Anubis acted as her mentor in her earlier years. But it wasn't hard to figure out he was as ignorant as he was powerful. "I'm interested. Is there anything you can tell me that isn't plastered on this wall?" Y/n looks at the man for a second time, before deciding to oblige. "He was one of the oldest champions of Egypt, ruling over Tartarus and the lands of death. For a while, he remained content and wise. But time withered his facade away, showing the ignorant coyote he really was. He began to torment the very spirit's he was meant to send to the afterlife."
Bruce waits for Y/n to finish, but came to the conclusion she wasn't planning to. "What happened next?" She tilts her head, before continuing with a sigh. "When the other gods had heard of this, they brought light to a new champion. One of the dead. A poor girl, eaten by the forest, was granted into the heavens. Wepwawet was the spirit's guide to the afterlife, intercepting Anubis's activities." Bruce hums, "He wasn't angered?" Bruce asks, "That wasn't in his nature. He just found something else to do." "You'd think a god of death would be more- evil." Y/n glances away, "Yeah maybe." Sometimes she wished he'd act more deviously. Maybe then it would have justified his actions. "Are- you interested in an internship position?" He spoke up. "Well you'd be paid- I'm doing research on Norse- Greek- Egyptian Gods. I'm hoping to broaden our knowledge and connect the dots where they left off." Bruce glances at the Egyptian scriptures in front of him.

"Bruce! The team's meeting in the living room- we have a.. Visitor." Tony knocks on the man's doorframe. "Hold on, Y/n's not here yet." Bruce sits up from his desk, "Good. Consider herself lucky." He straightens his glasses before following the engineer through the hall. His steps came to a stop, seeing who was standing in the room. "You can't be serious." Thor waves to the scientist, "Hello, Banner- do you remember my brother Loki?" The god of mischief standing next to him smirked. "What's going on?" Thor clears his throat. "My brother, Loki. will be staying with us, for some time. To broaden his horizons- about earth- culture.!" Natasha hums, "The one he tried to destroy a few months ago?" Clint joins in, "Or a different one?"
