Description: what if drarry was a thing

First of all, Draco and Harry are essentially foils of each other. Both of them are born into circumstances that aren't ideal, with relatives who, frankly, aren't the healthiest people to have a relationship to. They end up with a whole horde of expectations (Harry: The Chosen One, Draco: The Malfoy Heir) and not much choice regarding their actions, given how severely prejudiced both of them are, growing up (though Harry, less so than Draco). Both of them are thrust into situations that are too dangerous for underage students (heck, for of-age people too), and even the people they're eventually paired up with (Ginny and Astoria) come with a host of expectations from other people. Both of them make some pretty bad choices and sometimes are privileged jerks (Draco more than Harry although Harry is annoying af) The fact that they're so similar and yet so diametrically opposite makes them interesting to play off against each other.

They have a light/dark aesthetic too: Golden Boy Harry, with dark hair and green eyes, and Dark Marked Draco, with bright hair and gray eyes. Very nice in pictures. (Draco is more or less magical!Dudley now that I think of it, but that's neither here nor there. Also, ew, they're cousins.)

Then there's the fact that as a child, Draco's pretty obsessed with "Precious Potter" and spends a lot of time paying attention to him (if only to insult him), and teenaged Harry is obsessed with Draco (he actively stalks Draco). It's fairly easy to extend this to a sexual/darkly romantic/Byronic interest. It's not a healthy relationship at all, but it's wartime and it's a Bad Romance of the highest level.

They might've had 4 kids though, Scorpius Draco Malfoy-Potter, James Sirius Malfoy-Potter, Lily-Luna Malfoy- Potter and Albus Severus Malfoy -Potter. They're basically All the same for the original series
