"We're here" my older sister, Bianca, anounced after she shook me awake from my slumber.

I sat up straight in the passenger seat while rubbing my eyes. I looked at the building on my right. It was my aunts house, Sherlin, who just passed on yesterday.

So we had to drive from  to LA to come here and attend her funeral since we had a very good relationship with her, and plus cause she's family. So we kinda had no choice.

"Wake him up please while I get the stuff out of the trunk" she pointed at Na'jour, our younger brother, who was dead asleep behind us. Snoring loudly, mouth open, drooling and all.

I make a disgusted face before I shook him awake, not after taking a picture to show to his future girlfriend of course. He grumbles and turns his head the other way.

Na'jour was always the mean one in the family, he just says stuff to say stuff, sometimes he doesn't really mean it. He gets on my nerves cause he always has an answer for everything, but it's all love with him.

Bianca was the most successful one out of all three of us. She helps us financially the most and with transportation since Naj is still in high school and I had no car. She was our pillar of strength.

I, on the other hand, had nothing but a job at a struggling coffee shop. I have an apartment  Bianca got me fully furnished and I just pay the rent and buy groceries sometimes. I hate my life, it is a struggle cause sometimes I just didn't want to bother Bianca, although she's never made me feel like I was so I would just thug it out.

My life is a wreck all thanks to the poor decisions I made back in high school and not prioritizing school.

But ian got no baby so that's a W on my side.

"Naj" I shake him again.

"What damn?!" he says angrily as he opens one eye to look at me.

"Wake up we're here" I point and he smacks his lips and closes his eyes to sleep again. "oh well, i tried" i shrug getting out the car.

I had a blanket, my phone and charger, my fluffy slippers in my hand as i closed the door. The door to the house opened revealing my cousin and Sherlin's only son, Marcus.

"Hey cousin" He says walking towards me. His eyes were red and low, i couldn't tell if he has been crying his heart out or just smoking his pain away since he is a stoner.

But I would like to think he was crying, obviously. But you just never know with him man.

"hey" i respond. "I'm sorry for your loss. When I received the news I just couldn't believe it, I was so shocked cause literally two days before that we were told she was going to pull through. I was so not expecting this. "

"Yeah. " he chuckles making me chuckle too. "But it's life. It is what it is" he shrugs and clears his throat when his voice comes out shaky.

"I would say a few more things but I'm saving it for when the funeral starts" I say and he nods sniffling and rubbed his nose a little bit.

I throw the blanket over my shoulder letting it hang from my left shoulder and opened my arms out for a hug and he hugged me letting him cry on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry."
