One week later
Kim's POV
The elevator opened when I reached the ground floor and I stepped out. I walked to my car but stopped in my tracks when I saw Lorena talking to someone on her phone.
She looked pissed. Without warning she abruptly hung up and then threw her phone on the wall.
I gasped dropping my notebook. The noise caught her attention and she turned to me. I gulped forgetting about my book on the floor.
I had never seen her that angry. She was always cheerful and annoying me with her constant talking. I must admit, I was getting used to her and enjoying her company.
She sighed and walked towards me. She bent and picked my book up. I was still in a trance.
"You dropped your book." She handed me the book.
"T-thank you." I whispered. Kim, what the fuck? I cleared my throat. "Um I'm sorry I was actually on my way to the car when I heard you yelling."
"And I was wondering whose car that is." I frowned. "It's late, why are you still here?"
"I had something to finish." I looked at my wrist watch. 10 pm.
"You're overworking yourself Kimberly." She sighed and then turned to walk away from me. At first I thought she was just leaving me like that without even a simple goodnight or something. How rude, I thought. I then saw her bending to pick up her now dead phone and then coming back to me. Oh.
"Headed home?" I nodded. "Right, well you should be careful. Goodnight Kimberly."
"Wait" I stopped her. "You look like you could use a glass of wine and some c-company. I don't mean to be um- I just saw y-you....." she chuckled.
"If you want to invite me over to your house then I don't have a problem with that. You don't have to stutter." I rolled my eyes.
"You could have just said yes." She chuckled and I smiled.
"Well after you." I looked at her confused.
"I meant drive behind me not ride with me. How will you get home later?"
"My driver will pick me up." She said as we walked to my car.
"What about your car?" I pointed to the luxury black car.
"Security will take of that." She said calmly.
"And how do you intend to call your driver to pick you up since you just smashed your phone?" I asked and she showed me her Apple watch.
"It has a tracker. If he can't reach me he'll come for me. Daniel is more than a driver, he's a bodyguard." I nodded and then went to the driver seat while she went to the passenger seat. After we both got in, I brought the engine to life and started driving. A few seconds later she started talking again. "Are you not going to ask where he is now or why he never follows me everywhere?" I chuckled shaking my head.
"It's none of my business."
"You're a very complicated woman or are you doing this on purpose just to annoy me?" I looked at her with a frown on my face.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You-" something rang interrupting her and she looked at her Apple watch. Oh right. I was starting to wonder whose phone was that since I was certain it wasn't mine. "You called early.....No I'm fine, just get me a new phone......yeah.......you know what to do Daniel." I heard a sigh. I looked beside me and she had hung up. She was looking out of the window.
