Kim Namjoon

(One-shot)

****

You and your boyfriend were taking a stroll at the park. It was Saturday and both of you were bored so you decided to have a little date. It wasn't like you did every weekend, but it was not that often that Joon will be the one to suggest a date first without you bugging him to.

It's not like he didn't want anyone finding out about you. He just didn't like the roaming eyes of the public. The media. He didn't want you to be dragged in the scary world of showbiz. You were his. And he'll protect what was his. He didn't want to share you to anyone. It will stay that way.

"I just realized. You're so small." the giant muttered beside you. You can feel his heavy gaze on the back of your head. His eyes were always like that. Even without him putting an effort to it, it was the kind of gaze that will make you quiver once you meet it. Heck, once you feel it on you it's like a sudden drop of temperature and gravity pulling you way harder than before.

Maybe that's why loving him is like falling into an endless cliff.  It's like he tied chains around your ankles with tons of weight and tossed you into the ocean. It was somehow cold but the sway of the waves were comforting. It was heavy, suffocating but it didn't hurt. It was like you were free but only on his domain. You were tied to him.

"Well it's not my damn fault you're a giant..." You whispered so the only one that could hear was yourself but it didn't escape the giant's good hearing.

He chuckled lazily, if that's even possible, and continued your walk.

Silence seeped in between the both of you. But it was not the kind of silence that will render both of you unable to talk due to the atmosphere, no, not a bit of awkwardness was there. Just a comfortable and solemn silence that served as a simple solitude for the both of you.

You glanced at the cherry blossoms falling at the ground and admired the sight. The fading pink of the petals reminded you of the scenery painted by the setting sun. It was like a miniature version of the whole sky converted into a breathtaking beautiful flower petal. A whole world trapped in a small falling vessel.

"Beautiful..." you hear him mutter. You agreed while nodding, still staring at the falling petals not knowing the statement was directed towards you.

You silently hummed to the tune of spring day as the both of you strolled through the pathway. Kicking away the pile of fallen petals on your way making them sprawl to the air and scatter with the help of the breeze.

" You seem to shrink smaller these days." Joon suddenly muttered, breaking the ice.

"Huh?" you asked flustered. Is shrinking even possible? "Maybe you're just getting taller." you answered and shifted your gaze at the giant.

"Nope. Last week you reached here--" he pointed at his temple and looked straight into your eyes.

God those eyes.

"--my mind, but now--" he softly grabbed your hands as if it was the most fragile thing in the world, and put it above his racing heart "--you reached into here." and he smiled, his adorable dimples showing from the action and you can't help but fawn over the gorgeous being in front of you.

Oh, that smile. That f*cking smile gets me every time.

You felt your cheeks turn a dark shade of red at his corny pick up line. Where did he even get that from. From what you know, he doesn't like those kind of things. He was frank and straight to the point. He was the type who's actions speak a million words. He cared for you in every little way. It was like feeling the unconditional love of a father but way deeper. Actions that no amount of sweet nothings whispered to your ear can top.
