1987.

"Well, Mr & Mrs. Sheard, everything is looking good for Baby Sheard," Karen's doctor, Dr. Warren, spoke, as she moved the probe along Karen's pregnant stomach.

Karen smiled softly at the screen that reflected the status of their baby. Drew looked on in mixture excitement & fascination, as he moved up towards his wife for a closer look.

"Everything's looking pretty healthy and good. Now, as you enter the final stages, it's more of just a waiting game," She shot a small smile at the couple, as she moved the probe around a bit more.

"Oh..." Dr. Warren started, her face scrunching up with a bit of confusion & surprise. This caused Karen & Drew to look with a little concern.

"What's wrong?" Karen questioned with her eyebrows furrowed. Drew touched her hand in attempt to ease her nerves, just in case.

"It seems we may have missed something," Dr. Warren spoke, moving the probe again. She rolled her stool closer to the screen & began to point, "Looks like baby girl has a friend in there with her,"

"You said what-" Karen asked, damn near choking on her own spit causing Dr. Warren to laugh.

"A friend? It's two of them?" Drew questioned, adjusting his glasses to look at the screen for himself.

Dr. Warren nodded, "You guys are having twins,"

"We're having twins.. " Drew repeated to himself, "I did the damn thing, boy," He laughed, reaching to give Karen a high- five. She glared at him in return & slapped his hand away.

"So, how come we couldn't see baby number 2 at the last appointment?" Karen asked, looking at the screen,

"It seems baby number 2 was hiding on the side back here, so we couldn't really see her behind baby number 1," Dr. Warren pointed to where she believed the baby had been hiding.

Karen nodded as they began to clean the gel off of her stomach, as she started to fix her clothes.

"I'll be sure to have the reception book your appointment for next month & to send a fill for your prescription to the pharmacy. Remember to take your- Well, you know what to do," Dr. Warren spoke, laughing lightly with Karen.

"I got it. You know I'mma stay on top of it & if I don't, I'm sure he'll tell ," Karen snickered at Drew. He playfully rolled his eyes.

"You know that's right," He chuckled, patting Karen's shoulder as she grabbed her purse.

Dr. Warren chuckled at the couple, "So, any family history of twins?" She questioned as she walked Karen & Drew out to the lobby area.

"I'm actually a twin myself," Karen spoke, as she wobbled her way down the hallway.

"Really? I'm surprised,"

"Yeah, I had an identical twin sister but she passed when I was younger," She explained, making Dr. Warren nod her head in understanding.

They said their goodbyes as they parted ways with Drew & Karen getting into the car.

"Baby, we're having twins. That's crazy," Karen chuckled in excitement, looking at her husband.

"I know. We hoped for one & God blessed us with two," Drew smiled back at her, as he turned out to leave the facility parking lot.

Karen scrunched her face up, "Where you going? Home is that way,"

Drew looked at her crazy, "Whatchu mean? We finna go shop for you & my babies,"

She blushed a bit & chuckled, gazing at him for a second before looking out the window.

It was very easy to see that Karen loved Drew & that Drew loved Karen. It was even easier to see that everybody loved Karen.

Well, almost everybody..
