Darkness. That's all I could see. My lungs felt as if they were trapped inside an iron vice getting tighter and tighter. I couldn't get a full breath out. My feet carried my body further away from the forest. Crack. My knees buckled underneath me, feet throbbing I tried to drag myself away from the trees that seemed to to be closing in behind me. I stopped. Silence... My heart was a hammer breaking free of the restrictions of my rib cage. Thump. Thump. Thump. My icy breath danced through the air and no more than a second later it vanished. Arms wobbling I felt like an ice cube had been dropped down my shirt as a shadowed figure walked towards me.
