I could hardly contain my excitement. Every since finding out I had a cousin I wanted to meet him, but I never expected here.
His face flooded with relief and happiness.
There was silence for two seconds before we both started talking a mile a minute. We laughed realizing the other couldn't understand what the talker was saying.
" I'm Denki Kaminari," he said holding his hand out.
I take it in mine and even though he knows my name I say it again, "Akari Hakamada."
I then pull him into a hug which he immediately reciprocated. Even though he's only 5'6 he still towers over my small frame.
" It's nice to finally meet you Kaminari," I say into his chest.
We break apart and a lot of eyes from fellow classmates are on us.
" Aww that's so cute!," the girl with pink hair squealed. " I'm Mina Ashida."
" Akari Hakamada"
" Wait Hakamada as in Tsunagu Hakamada. The number 4 hero Best Jeanist," a boy with spiky red hair and pointed teeth.
" Yeah, he's my dad," I say in a small voice.
His eyes light up and a leans closer to me, " No way! That's so awesome! I'm Eijiro Kirishima by the way."
The four of us talked and more of our classmates joined in and introduced themselves.
We talked about our quirks mainly.

After our regular classes and lunch we had hero basic training in the afternoon.
Bursting through the door All Might yells, " I am here! Coming through the door like a hero!"
While I wasn't a big fan of All Might I still had a deep respect for him. In a moment of crisis he is a calming and energetic presence. It's exactly what people need. To me my dad was my rock. I was his biggest fan and that will never change.
Everyone gasped
" I can't believe it's really All Might," Kaminari said in awe.
" So he really is a teacher," Kirishima said with excitement. "This year gonna be totally awesome."
Tsu spoke up, " is he wearing his silver age costume."
" I'm getting goose-bumps. It's so retro!," the boy with a tail said. I'm pretty sure his name was Ojiro.
When All Might reached the podium he boomed, " Welcome to the most important class at UA High. Think of it as Hero-ing 101. Here you will learn the basics of being a pro. And what it means to fight in the name of good. Let's get into it! Today's lesson will pull no punches!"
" Fight training," Bakugo said with a crazed look in his eye. I ended up sitting next to him since it was the last seat available.
" Real combat?" Deku asked.
" But one of the keys of being a hero is..... looking good!" Just as All Might said this compartments came out of the wall. " These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent before school started."
Everyone gasped and cheered. Me on the other hand, I was nervous. The costume I deigned was a "little" revealing. Due to my quirk I wanted something light, breathable and open.
" Get yourselves suited up and then meet me at Training Ground Beta"
I changed into my costume and it was really revealing but it was exactly what I needed. The design I submitted was a lot more simple. The designers had added some flashier designs to it like the small straps on my hips and calves.

We then walked out and met where All Might had instructed.
" They say that clothes make the pros. Young ladies and gentlemen, and behold you are the proof! Take this to heart. From now on you are all...heroes in training! This is getting me all revved up. You look so cool! Now, shall we get started, ya bunch of newbies?"
After everyone settled we all started chatting. This guy with grapes on his head kept giving me a creepy stare and drooling.
To quote Ashida's exact words she said " You look so sexy and badass!" Kaminari grumbled at this being protective. Ashida noticed this and teased him, " Awwww! Are you protecting your little cuz."
Kaminari blushed and made a pouty face. I smiled at him.
Almight caught our attention when he said, " Now that your ready! It's time for combat training."
He then went on to explain our objective. We were split into 10 teams of two, but one team would win the advantage of having three people.
I was grouped with Momo. Personally I think we'd make a great team. She had brains and was also one of the students who got in on recommendation while I was great with brute force. We told each other our quirks hoping we could them to our advantage. I think the one we came up with was solid.
The first two teams were Midoriya and Uraraka against Bakugo and Iida. This was a difficult matchup. Anyone watching the fight could see they both had past grudges. Well Bakugo primarily. The ending was a dramatic one with Uraraka managing to touch the weapon first. Midoriya was unfurled and taken to the hospital wing.
Bakugo was about to lose it. I could see it in his eyes and his hyperventilating. I wanted to snap him out of it, but All Might beat me to it. We then went over the match to learn from it.
Todoroki and Shoji vs Ojiro and Hagakure. I was a very quick match with a win for the heroes.
Next up was Momo and I as villains against Kirishima and Sero the heroes. Momo created a blanket that would shield herself from my electricity in case things got out of hand.
A couple of months ago I found out about another side of my quirk. I was able to use atmospheric electricity to sense things around me. While it was still a working progress I was good enough to know which floor they were on. We were on the fourth floor out of five.
As they ascended to the third floor Momo hid under the blanket. I didn't think we would need it, but I also didn't want to take that chance. There were a number of things that could go wrong.
I stood close to door to get a better shot. When they opened it I smiled, "Sorry boys nothing personal." Before they could react they were knocked out cold. Kirishima started snoring. I was now laughing on the floor clutching my stomach at the expressions on their faces. My teammate came out of the blanket and we did a victory high-five. When we were evaluated we received a congratulation on our performance.
The rest of the battles went smoothly. All Might ran out in a hurry saying he was checking up on Midoriya and to see if Kirishima and Sero were up. Bakugo was still riled up, so I decided to encourage him. I tapped on his shoulder catching his attention.
" What!?" He said in his natural irritated voice.
" If it makes you feel better I thought you did great," I say.
" Yea, well I don't care," he retorted. I didn't realize it at that moment, but that one comment I made would set us on a path I never thought possible.
