  • Dedicated to Him, the one I love.

Beep, Beep, Beep!

‘’Fucks sake.’’ I moaned, smacking my alarm violently.

Oh yeah, I’m Maddy Holiday. Your some-what typical teenager.

I pulled myself out of bed, my body feeling a lot heavier than it actually was. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I groaned as I saw my school clothes lying on radiator. I quickly pulled them on and made my way downstairs.

I straightened my dark brown hair quickly, and then I applied some grey eye-shadow, black eyeliner and black mascara. Luckily, with my olive complexion, I didn’t need foundation because I had such an even skin tone with zero spots.

I brushed my teeth in the bathroom, and smiled at myself in the mirror.

‘’This is as good as it’s going to get.’’ I sighed.

I grabbed my bag, headed out the door and began my walk to school. I absolutely hated school, for the simple fact that I was forced to get up so early every morning. At least I’d get to see him at school. The one who made me smile, the man of my dreams.

Yeah, that’s right; the man of your dreams. Because he’ll only ever be a dream for you.

I hit my head in a way of telling my thoughts to shut up. I would not let my stupid head get in the way of everything.

I arrived at school surprisingly early, so I headed to my tutor base in order to get out of the rain that had started falling. I would not start the day with frizzy hair and eyeliner running down my face. Why would he want me then?

You’re probably wondering who this guy is, right? You must be pretty curious. Well, brace yourself. You’re about to find out exactly who this guy is.

‘’Good morning, Madeline. You’re early! What’s happened to the world?’’ Mr Autumn said cheerily as I entered the room.

‘’Call me Madeline again, and I will kill you.’’ I spat.

‘’Yeah right, you say that every time.’’ Mr Autumn laughed.

He and I had this game. Every morning he’d call me Madeline, and I’d tell him I was going to kill him. So you’re probably confused, yes? I bet you’re wondering where this ‘man of my dreams’ is going to come in. Well, breaking news, you just met him. Yep, I have a major crush on my form tutor, Mr Autumn.

‘’Seriously; Maddy, why are you in so early? Did you miss me that much?’’ He teased.

Yes.

‘’Of course, Sir. You’re obviously that irresistible! No, I’m here because instead of hanging out in the rain and letting my hair frizz, I came in here.’’ I said with a sarcastic tone, carefully not speaking my mind.

Mr Autumn sighed at me, shaking his head and rolling his eyes. He suddenly looked right up at me, right in my eyes. My dull brown ones locked with his sparkling chocolate ones. I blushed.

‘’I think you look cute with frizzy hair.’’ He muttered, so that no one at the back of the room would hear.

I blushed an even darker shade of red. His compliments meant the world to me, and I felt like hugging him. I had to play it cool though; I was not to let him know about my crush on him. I would die of embarrassment.

‘’Um, thanks, but I disagree.’’ I stammered.

He rolled his eyes at me again, but said nothing more about my hair. He carried on looking at his laptop, flicking through e-mails with a bored expression on his face.

Everyone else walked in to the room, forcing me to sit on my chair, which was about four metres away from Mr Autumn. It was too far, in my eyes.

He read out the register, saying everyone’s name un-enthusiastically. When he said mine, his eyes suddenly lit up.

‘’Maddy?’’

‘’I’m here, Sir.’’

‘’Good.’’

He looked at me and smiled, something he hadn’t done to anyone else when he read their names out. We were interrupted by the bell ringing, high- pitched and loud, to tell us to go to first period.

I yawned and stood up. I turned around to put my bag on my shoulder, and when I turned around Mr Autumn was watching me. I blushed, once again.

‘’Um, see you later.’’ I muttered.

‘’No, you’ll see me now. You have Music with me first, remember?’’ Mr Autumn replied with a smile.

‘’Oh, I forgot.’’ I laughed half- heartedly.

‘’Would you like to walk with me?’’

‘’Um, sure, I guess so.’’

Mr Autumn stood up and I followed him out of the room. He looked like he was about to link arms with me. We made small talk until we reached the music room, and then he walked in and sat down. It was professional time again.
