As Enid walked out the door furiously, Wednesday's mind began to spiral.

She had never felt so vulnerable in her life, so fragile. It felt as if someone raised their voice too loudly she would just shatter.

Wednesday Addams was not soft. But there she was, sinking into the fetal position because of some girl.

Although, as much as it pained her to admit, Enid was not just some girl, she was sunshine. Wednesday was a window, curtains drawn tight to keep the light out. Turns out they aren't as easy to keep closed as she thought. She could feel the sunlight seeping in, the wall she'd put up starting to crumble away.

Her curtains were slipping, and there was nothing she could do but come to terms with it.

To accept that if her and Enid were "just friends" she wouldn't be this hurt over her departure. To accept that truly she didn't want to end up alone.

Wednesday got up from the cramped position she was in and moved to sit before her crystal ball, quickly contacting her mother.

Normally she wouldn't have, but she needed someone to talk to, and Morticia gave exceptional advice.

She felt relieved when she saw her mother in the dim light of the sphere.

"Hello, my darling." Morticia was smiling until she saw the upset look on her daughter's face, "What's troubling you?"

"I'm dealing with unwanted emotions and I was wondering if we could talk about it to make me feel better."

"Of course, Wednesday. I'm always here."

"I assume you remember my roommate Enid."

"She's far too vibrant to forget."

"I think... I think that I've run her off. That's why I'm upset."

"Tell me what happened."

Wednesday explained what happened and Morticia listened with interest the whole time. It lifted the gothic teen's spirits slightly, she was glad their relationship was improving.

"Well here's what I'll tell you. You love her, dear. And as much as you try to deny it, you're scared, because you're not fond of these feelings. Sound about right?" Her mother quirked an eyebrow and Wednesday nodded hesitantly with a hint of defeat.

"Don't let her get away. As badly you desire to be dark and lonely, you need to give this a chance. A girl like her is exactly what you need, she's good for you." Morticia advised. "And no matter who you choose to pursue in your life, I will always love and support you, Wednesday. I hope you know that."

"I do. Thank you, mother."

"Of course. Now, go get your girl. Call me again soon." Her mother blew a kiss before vanishing and Wednesday stood up.

She couldn't let her pride get in the way of something good, so off she went, searching the campus for Enid. The blonde had said she was going to Yoko's but she knew her better than that. She most likely dropped her stuff off and then went away to clear her mind. Now Wednesday just had to figure out where.

She checked Xavier's art shed, the quad, and even Eugene's bee building before she found Enid behind the greenhouse, sitting on the ground with her knees to her chest.

The blonde's head snapped towards Wednesday as she heard her approaching, wiping away tears and trying to dismiss her, "Go away, Wednesday."

"No." Wednesday replied simply, standing her ground.

"Why are you even here? Just go."

"I'm sorry." The raven-haired girl spoke genuinely, "I hope you know I don't apologize often."

"Are you trying to guilt-trip me right now? Seriously?"

"No. What I'm trying to say is..." Wednesday sighed in frustration, "You're special. Putting you in danger made me feel a way I never want to feel again, because I care about you deeply, Enid. You elicit emotions in me that no one ever has before and while it frustrates me to my core, I'm growing fond of them. I don't mind solitude, but I'd rather have you."

"Are you confessing to me after you almost got me killed?" Enid said jokingly, standing up and inching closer to Wednesday.

"Possibly. Depends on what you think about it."

"I think I should kiss you."

"I quite like that idea."

The shorter girl stepped forward so Enid could close the space between them and Wednesday thought she might faint with contentment.

When they broke apart, the blonde was grinning widely, her cheeks rosy. A ghost of a smile broke across Wednesday's face also as she spoke, "That was revolting. Do it again."

Wednesday never expected she'd love someone like Enid, but now that she had her, she would never let her go.
