The bell rang as students flooded the hallway. The days were the same at Griffith Middle/High School. One of the shortest 8th graders, Kathleen, sped walked to her Health class. Right behind her, was Ryan, Sebastian, Jason, Isaiah, and Davon. "Hey Kathleen!" Davon shouted behind Kathleen. "My friend here has a crush on you!" Davon continued his statement. Kathleen ignored Davon's shouts, knowing that he was only joking. When Kathleen got to Health, she immediately rushes to her seat and sits down. By at that moment, the bell had rung once again. A few children goes over to Mrs. Chavez, the Heath teacher, and starts overwhelming her with questions.
Once the class settles down, she gets ready to start going over what the class will be doing when the phone begins to ring. Mrs. Chavez walks over to the phone and answers it. "Who do you think it's for?" Chris, one of her fellow classmates, asked. "The only way to find out is when Mrs. Chavez hangs up." Carter, a student not so far from Kathleen, replies. Chatter started to fill the room when Mrs. Chavez hangs up the phone. She walks over to a student's desk, Amethyst's desk to be more specific, and tells them something. Amethyst gathers their stuff and walks out of the room. "Mrs. Chavez! Where is she going?" Kathleen asked. Mrs. Chavez ignores Kathleen's question and tries to quiet the class down again.
Once the class ended, Kathleen walks rather quickly to lunch. Isaiah slides next to Kathleen, Jaylan, his best friend, following behind. "Hey beautiful!" Isaiah shouted. Both Jaylan and Isaiah both start laughing. Kathleen scoffs in annoyance. "Shut up Isaiah" Kathleen groaned in reply. "Hard to get I see? I'd figure." Isaiah said with a wink. Kathleen rolled her eyes. By at this point, they had arrived at the lunchroom. Kathleen walks into the lunch room and takes a seat in Group 3. She takes out her IPad and starts drawing on the Sketchbook App.
Mr. Mik, the principal of the school, goes over to where his microphone was kept. "My hand is up!" Mr. Mik announces as the lunchroom quiets down. "Thank you guys for quieting down so fast, I appreciate that. For lunch, left side we have Bosco Sticks! On the right, we have Hotdog! We have all tree options available in the back. Group 4, you are first today! Go get your food!" Mr. Mik informs the students. Students on the far right side of the lunch room left their seats and headed to the four lanes.
As Kathleen continues to draw on her IPad, she starts thinking more about Isaiah. "Why am I thinking about him?! I want nothing to do with him." Kathleen asks herself as continues drawing on her IPad. "Group 3! You may eat!" Mr. Mik announces as Kathleen got up and went down a lane. More thoughts of Isaiah roamed her head and she got her food. Kathleen turns her IPad off as she eats her food. After she throws out her food, and continues drawing on her IPad, still thinking about Isaiah. For the rest of the day, Isaiah was the only thing on Kathleen's mind. She wasn't sure what was going on with her, but she knows that it wouldn't be good...
