(??? POV)

I fell to my knees, tears forming in my eyes, I looked up at him, hoping I was wrong. There in front of me turned too stone.... was Leo. The tears fell from my eyes; I had been too late to stop him. I thought, since I was free, he would have been too. I stood up and held my hand out to his face. "Sato, I'm so sorry. I wish I were here sooner. I wish I had come here instead of making you think I was dead." Just then, I saw something on the ground. I bent down and picked it up, it was a book with a leather cover. On it was the mark of The Guardian Ivy.

On the back, an inscription had been carved, saying, 'Thee who holds the book of Life, Shale no not the pain of death. Created by gods given to truth, used for harm holds its shadows.' I flipped through it, and then a small drawing fell out, I picked it up, glanced at it, and slowly put it back.

"I will get you back, Leo, even if it takes years, even if I lose myself trying." With that, I grabbed the book and walked off. For a moment, I thought I saw something in Dero's stone eyes. Like he was trying to stop me somehow.

(Alex's P.OV)

I was walking home with my favorite book in hand, 'The Legend of the Silver Wolf ' it was the only thing I wanted to bring when I was taken away from my real mother. I don't remember much from then; all I know is that the police were hiding me from everyone, and the hospital was weirder than a normal one (I think). But no one was treating me like I was weird. 'I kind of want to go to the statues again. It's been a bit, and that wolf girl was pretty. Akira, I think.' I thought as I walked down the path into the forest. When I was here, I felt safe.

After about 8 minutes of walking, I got to a small clearing. In it were 6 statues. They looked old, I knew there used to be 7, but one had fallen apart. They looked like they were fighting each other. The book had said 3 of their names, Eva, Fern, and Akira. It may seem weird, but they were alive at some point. I turned around to go and sit next to Akira. That's where I always sat. I would read to her about the stuff her parents did. When I turned, her statue wasn't there. 'Ok that's weird.... oh no! Did she wake up! In a world so different from what she remembers......She could think humans are still friends!'. Panicked, I put my book down and thought.

Where would she go? Then I realized it, I grabbed the book and started running to the den. It wasn't in the book but somehow, I knew this, it was the last place she saw anyone before......'Before they all turned to stone.' But that didn't matter right now. As I reached the den, I stopped. I took off my bag and set it by a tree with the book, I tied back my long, deep brown hair. As I walked closer, I slipped off my jacket and tied it around my waist. As soon as I stepped foot into the clearing, I saw her and felt my breath catch in surprise.

(Akira POV)

Where were they.... What's going on? Eva and Fern were there, but they were stone. Just then, I heard breathing, my ears went down, and I turned to see a girl my age, I backed up slowly. "Hey, no need to be scared! I'm not going to hurt you...." She sounded so sweet and....kind, her voice was soft and gentle. And even though she was human, I felt safe. "Can I come closer? Not to hurt you, just to see you, and so you can see me." she said softly. 'She was so quick to say she wasn't going to hurt me. Maybe....' I nodded slowly. Slowly, the girl stepped closer. Now she was in the light, and I could see her better.

She had light brown skin and hair the color of the earth. Her eyes were the color of emeralds. She wore a light blue jacket around her waist and had a black shirt with a purple skull on it and ripped gray jeans. I saw she had a shocked look on her face. "You're real.... wow, you're prettier when you're not stone." she said, muttering the last part, I pretended not to hear.

"Can you talk......wait, I'm so stupid! Can you even understand me?" I couldn't help but let out a giggle. She was so frantic. Was I the first werewolf she'd ever met? "I guess you can understand me...or I look stupid." She said, blushing with embarrassment. I hesitated but answered, "Y-yes, I can understand you. Who are you......" She smiled a bit, "I'm Alex, And I'm human. You're Akira, Daughter of Amber and Asher Moon, right?" I nodded slowly.

I hadn't noticed, but she had slowly been walking closer to me. She was about 3 feet in front of me now. Up close, I could see her facial features better than before. She had a deep scar across her eye. The eye with the scar was a lighter shade of green than the other one. It looked like it had a yellow tint to it. She looked tired like she hadn't slept in days. My train of thought was broken when a loud noise suddenly appeared above us.

It was the loudest noise I had ever heard in my life. Instinctively, my ears and tail went down, and I covered my ears with my hands. "Hey, hey, it's ok! That's just a plane, though I guess it's louder for you, isn't it?" I looked up at Alex. Her eyes were soft. She had a soft smile that reminded me of Sam's...... I nodded. Suddenly, Alex looked up, and a worried look appeared on her face. "We should go. It is not safe around here. It's not how you remember it being." she said, taking my arm. I had a moment to glance up and see it. In the shadows standing on a tree branch, there was a figure. It was a shadow from the book of life. 'The council is watching' it mouthed as it saw me.
