Today I woke up remembering it is the day of the Hunter Exams I got out of bed took a shower and got dressed the clothes I wore were a long sleeve woolen dress and thigh-high boots

because I heard it was cold and back some clothes, water, and my phone in my bag along with some weapons.

Whale island's wind is usually harsh, but today it was particularly rough. While walking to port I was constantly getting stared at but I paid it no mind and continued walking. The walk was quite long but the time seemed to fly by with my racing thoughts. By the time I arrived, the ship was already taking on passengers.

The ship was filled with brute, narcissistic-looking men. My footsteps on the wooden deck seemed to attract the eyes of many, and being the only girl only helped to emphasize how out of place I must have seemed. The male examinees reacted to me either with smirks or pervasive leers. Which both put me on edge, encouraging me to find a quiet place for myself.

I quickly climbed up to the crow's best. I sat on the platform floor, facing toward the direction we are heading, and soon enough the ship began sailing.

I closed my eyes and took in the feeling of freedom. The breeze swaying in my hair, the sunshine over my body.

The moment was soon interrupted by a dense, grey cloud ahead. I deliberate whether or not I should stay outside for longer, but decided on finding a cot inside instead.

Water was slowly leaking into the room from under the door. The ship was going up and down constantly, making almost everyone on it vomit or pass out. Buckets were being handed out to the crew for the passengers that were still somewhat upright. My cot swayed about in a way in response to the turbulence.

A few hours later, the storm had passed, so I decided to get up. I stretched out with a few cracks and shook my legs to get the feeling back in them. The Captain of the ship was standing by the
door, taking in the scene. Vomit and water had been everywhere, and upon realizing this myself, the scent trailed into my nose, and I was sickened. The count was down to five awake in the room, including the captain, before it had easily been fifteen or so. One man had his eyes on a magazine, and another looked like a girl but I'm sure was a boy resting on a cot, and a small boy was helping the men that were vomiting or past out. The captain asked the four of us to follow him.

When we reached a small, rode-out room, the captain asked us to explain why we are entering the hunter exam.

The young kid shouted that his name is 'Gon' and that he wanted to find his father. The other two refused to tell the man and I stayed silent.

I intended to keep my privacy but was forced to speak when we found out it was the pre-exam.

The two guys, who introduced themselves as kurapika and Leorio told me their reasons for participating, and soon enough it was my turn.

"So, what's your name?" Leorio asked

"Y/N."

He seemed mad about my answer to his question."Are you not going to answer his questions?!" he raged.

"I want to be a pro hunter like my uncle," I said, glancing away" ignoring all of leorio's yelling.

A few hours passed and we were called by the captain we were at our destination.
