"Emma come in here please."
My mom was using her civil voice... this isn't good. I round the corner and she's positioned on the edge of the couch, cross-legged. I look at her and she gestures for me to sit. "Look, Emma.... I have some news. I got transferred and that means we'll have to move to North Carolina." My eyes welled up.
"What??"
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry. It'll be alright you'll make new friends!"
I didn't want to meet new friends, I like the ones I have now. It took me forever to get where I am now. I cant leave! Oklahoma is where I belong!!
"Okay, whatever," I mumble as I get up to leave.
" Do you wanna talk about it sweetie?"
I keep walking and shut my door behind me. A tear rolls down my cheek as I flop onto my bed.
