The Half Toon Detective and the Animated Heartthrob

Running from Doom

"Gaaaaghhh!" Roger yelled in terror as he tried to get of the choke hold that Doom had him in

"Does the condemned have anything to say before his sentence is carried out?" Doom asked Roger sounding demented.

" Why, yeah , Hhhmmh!" Roger tried to say before Doom tighten his grip on him

"Dolores A bourbon and make it a double" Eddie said with his hands still up

"Fine time for a drink, Eddie. Maybe you'd like a bowl of pretzels to go with it?" Dolores said incredulous tone while her arms were still up .

"Really Uncle Eddie an Innocent toon is about to erased from existence before our very eyes and you want a drink , if we get out of this alive you're going to AA" Hedy said in angry tone as she had her arms up too.

"Just pour the drink Dolores , and it's not for me Hedy " Eddie said as Dolores poured glass of Bourbon

"Hey, Judge! Doesn't a dying rabbit deserve a last request?" Eddie said as he reached over the bar to Doom and Roger.

"Yeah. Nose plugs would be nice" Roger said in a terrified tone as Doom had him over the barrel of Dip .

" I think you want a drink. How about it Judge?" Eddie said as he held the drink in his hand .

"Well, why not. I don't mind prolonging the execution." Doom said in a casual tone as he eased up on Roger a bit.

"Happy trails" Eddie said as he tried to give the drink to Roger

"No thanks, Eddie I'm trying to cut down" Roger said as in nervous tone

"Drink the drink!" Eddie said as he pushed the Drink towards Roger again

"But I don't want the drink" Roger said in an adamant tone .

" He doesn't want the drink" Doom said in a tense tone.

" He does" Eddie said in a sure tone

Hedy , Dolores and the rest of the Bar patrons then witnessed a back and forth between Roger and Eddie which went on for a few minutes until Eddie tricked Roger to drinking the Bourbon.

"You don't!" Eddie said in confident tone

"Listen, when I say I do it means I do." Roger said before he downed the drink with gulp

Hedy then ducked down behind the bar while covering her ears because she knew what happens when you give a Toon Human Alcohol, Her Uncle and Aunt also ducked down behind the bar .

Roger emitted a loud ear piercing whistle that broke all the glass in the bar which made Doom release his grip on him , Hedy and Eddie then leaped out from behind the bar and started to beat up the weasels , smashing them in the heads with the tables and chairs in the bar.

Smart ass then pulled out a switch blade and tried to stab Hedy but she quickly reached for a bottle of beer behind the bar and smashed it on his head knocking him out. Roger then calmed down and turned back to normal which almost made him fall into the dip but, Hedy caught him just in time.

"Gotcha Roger" Hedy said with a smile as she set the rabbit down on the floor

"Come on Hedy and Eddie! Let's get outta here! Move it pops! YIKES" Roger yelled as the ran out of the bar almost knocking two people over .

Eddie then knocked the barrel dip over which caused everyone including Doom to get of the way of the toxic liquid.

Not wanting to be ANYWHERE near the the Dip Hedy hugged her Aunt Dolores and ran out of the back door of the Bar just in time to see her Uncle and Roger driving away in Benny the Cab with the Weasels chasing them .

"Think Hedy think if I was running from the cops where I would I go to hide" Hedy thought to herself as she checked to see if the coast was clear from the Weasels , when she was sure that there wasn't any weasels lurking about Hedy walked down Sunset Blvd .

She bought an Ice pop from the Good Humor man while and tried to think where her Uncle and Roger would be hiding from those no good toon goons .

"It would have to be dark and crowded so they could hide in plain sight that's it the Vista Theatre but, that's clear across town " Hedy thought as she threw away her trash in a nearby trashcan.

Hedy then decided to call her Mom to give her a ride so, she walked into a nearby drug store and dialed her moms home phone number after a few rings her great Grampy answered the phone.

"Hello Boop residences Grampy speaking" Grampy said in a happy tone

"Hello Great Grampy it's Hedy" Hedy greeted with a smile because she hadn't seen her great grandfather since the Holidays .

"Hello Sweetie how are you doing" Grampy asked in a happy tone

"I'm doing fine Great Grampy but, I'm kinda in difficult situation at the moment is Mom home"? Hedy asked in an anxious tone.

"Yes sweetie , Betty Hedy is on the phone for you she sound like she's in trouble " Grampy said in the distance .

"Hello Hedy Sweetheart what on earth is wrong ?" Betty said in a concerned tone

"The Case that Uncle Eddie and I are on right now has gotten out of hand, someone is trying to Frame Roger Rabbit for the Murder of Marlene Acme and were kinda on the run from Toon Patrol ".

"Oh Dear , my poor babygurl are you hurt?" Betty said sounding distressed

"I'm okay Mom but, I need a ride to Vista Theatre that's where Uncle Eddie and Roger are hiding, I'm at Schwab's Drug store" Hedy said as she deposited another dime into the payphone so they wouldn't get disconnected before their call was over.

"Don't you worry sweetheart I'll be there in two shakes of a lambs tail" Betty said in a serious tone.

"See you soon Mom , Love you" Hedy said with a smile

"Love you too sweetheart". Betty said before she hung up

Hedy put the phone back on the receiver and stepped out of the phone booth knowing that it would take a while for her mom to Drive from Toontown to Hollywood Blvd if her mom obey the traffic laws that is she decided to get a treat at the Soda Fountain.

Hedy sat down and was about to order when the Soda Jerk put a Banana split down in front of her.

"Courtesy of the Gentleman down there" The Soda Jerk said with a smile

Hedy looked towards the other end of the Soda Fountain to see none other than Jess Rabbit smiling a dazzling smile at her as he held a chocolate malt, not one to pass up a free Desert Hedy dug into her frozen treat .

Jess then walked over to where Hedy was sitting and sat down on the stool next to her

"So do you always buy Banana Splits for the girls  you like or just me" Hedy asked in teasing tone.

"Just you Beautiful" Jess said in sultry tone as he plucked the cherry from the top of Hedy's sundae and popped it in his mouth.

Hedy just blushed and continued to eat her ice cream

"and you looked like you've had a tough day" Jess said in an Honest tone as he took out the cherry stem which was tied in a knot.

"You don't know that half of it" Hedy said in a slightly exhausted tone as she finished the desert

"Wanna talk about it" Jess asked in concerned tone because he could see how stressed Hedy looked .

Hedy blushed because Jess sounded genuinely concerned about what was bothering her but, she saw her mom pulled up to curb in her Red Sports car.

"Maybe next time I see you but my ride is here, thanks for the Sundae Jess " Hedy said as she grabbed her message bag , got off of the stool,and before leaving she planted a Kiss on Jess's cheek before hurrying out the drug store .

Hedy got into her Mom's car , and the two drove away just as the sun was setting  over the horizon . Leaving an awestruck Jess Rabbit behind holding his cheek with a bright blush on his face.
