CHAPTER 5 CHANCE ENCOUNTER

Darren POV

After the phone call from Roderick Gemson, I start thinking about what he told me, a gem dragon and a sapphire one of all things, the second sapphire dragon in the history of the dragon race, there's no doubt about it.

I must have this dragon as my own, he will be mine, my fourth and final Consort and empress, no one will have him but me, I grab my phone and call my brother's, the beta and gamma of my kingdom, "Hello?" West answers "Get in here and bring Chase." I reply then hang up, five minutes later they enter and stand before me,

"So what's so important you decide to wake us up at this godforsaken hour?" West yawns out, if anyone else talked to me like that they'd regret it but west and chase are my brothers, plus they're the only ones who can take me in a fight, I swallow my growl and stand up and head to the window, "I've found my fourth and final Consort empress, and I've been informed that they are the rarest dragon to have ever been discovered, a gem dragon."

I pause and turn around to see them looking at me with wide comical eyes, "A gem dragon? There hasn't been a gem dragon Born in a very long time, who is she?" Chase asks, I chuckle "This gem dragon is a male and not only that they're a sapphire dragon," I reply "WHAT?!" they both scream at the same time, "Oh it gets better, they're the younger brother of Tyler Gemson, the last clan leader I had to kill." When I finish my sentence, they give me a look of pure pity, "Well that's gonna be tough to talk to him then." West chuckled out, I give him a bored look, "Gee thanks I didn't realize that." I said sarcastically, "Has this dragon ever seen you before?" Chase asked, "I don't think so, why?" I ask, "Well what if you meet him but don't tell him who you are? Form a relationship with him first and when the times right, make him yours and by the time he figures out who you are, it'll be too late." He says, I hum in thought because it honestly didn't sound like a bad idea, I think this could work.

I grin evilly at the idea, "That is the best idea ever little brother." I chuckle, Daniel Gemson, you will be mine.

Daniel POV

I get ready for our day at the park, it's been a week since the funeral, and I haven't heard a word from my family since they found out about me, which is making me nervous but I keep a calm face for the kids, and even though they're still sad about their dad dying, they know that I'm still here for them, "ok kids, let's go to the park before it gets dark!" I tell, in mere seconds they're running downstairs and putting their shoes on, Lyle and Lance have been a great help to me lately, I told them about me being pregnant first and they were happy for me, and they promised to help me in any way they could, the kids have also been very good and listen to me when I tell them stuff,

Two days ago Riley called me Papa and I swear I almost cried, and since then the kids have started calling me Papa, I told them they don't have to but they've said they like calling me Papa, since I always act like their dad anyways, even Lyle and Lance have started calling me Papa, instead of big brother, I asked them why they want to call me Papa, and they told me it was because when we were still living with our parents, I always took care of them and watched out for them like a father would,

Even when they were babies I looked after them, my parents and sister were too busy spending money and taking care of themselves to worry about us, which was another reason I was glad we're finally out of there.

As we get to the park, the kids go off to play but I make sure to keep them in my line of sight, about thirty minutes later I hear someone yell, "Head's up!" I look behind me and see a football fly towards me, I close my eyes and prepare for the hit but It never comes, I open an eye and see someone holding the ball that was about to hit me,

"Sorry about that! Are you okay?!" He pants out heavily, I look at him and I have to stop myself from drooling, this man is a sex god, his chiseled six pack looks like it was sculpted from the god's themselves.

I hear a chuckle, and see his face in a smirking mood, I blush furiously, he knows I was checking him out,b"Sorry!" I squeak out, "It's fine, I'll take the staring as a compliment, especially from a cutie like you," He says and I swear I'm a firetruck with how red I am. He then leans over to me and asks, "So I couldn't help but sense something, can I assume that you're a dragon also?" I look up at him quizzically until I sensed it, he's a dragon, can't believe that I was so distracted I couldn't sense it, I shake my head yes and he smiles, then brings out his hand for me to shake, "I'm Darren." He says, I shake his hand, "Daniel, Daniel Gemson." I say and he smiles, and I swear I almost fainted when he smiled at me,

After a while of talking, he tells his brothers who he was playing football with that he would see them at home later, and they left, I unfortunately had to leave and so I rounded up the kids, when he heard them call me Papa he asked if they were mine, I had to set him straight and tell him they were my nieces and nephews and little brothers, but I'm their legal guardian so they like to call me Papa.

He shook his head in understanding, then he asked me out to dinner tomorrow night, I agreed, and I asked Tyron to babysit, he agreed saying I should try to be happy,

The night of the date came and we went to this cute little restaurant, we had an amazing time and honestly it felt like we'd known each other for a while for some reason, also I couldn't shake the feeling that I knew him but I couldn't figure out why, we saw each other for two weeks and even after my appointment with tyron, he said my babies were happy and healthy, yep you heard right babies, I'm having twins, one boy and one girl, the girl will be an alpha and the boy will be an omega.

You might be wondering how we know one is an alpha and one is an omega, there's a special sonogram machine that Tyron created that let's supernaturals see their unborn child's future ranking, if the screen turns red it'll be an alpha, green is beta, purple is gamma, silver is warrior, gold is hunter and lastly blue is omega, the screen was half blue and half red meaning one of each.

I was ecstatic, I hadn't told Darren about my pregnancy, but after going on dates for the past month I figured tonight would be the night to tell him, plus tyron and the kids have been begging to meet him, so I agreed, he's going to meet me here before we go on our date.

I hear the doorbell and go to answer it, I smile and am met with the face of Darren, "Hey Darren come on in." I step aside and let him in, "Thanks for inviting me to your place I'm kinda excited to officially meet your nieces and nephews and little brothers, to be honest, who'd you say was the family friend that was watching them while we go out?" He asks, "Actually he's a member of the dragon council, Tyron Sands," After I tell him that, he has a scared look on his face,

"Is everything ok?" I ask him, "Yeah um you know what maybe we can meet him another time?" He asks, I frown at his strange behavior, just then, the door opens and the kids and Tyron are coming back from their little outing, "Hey so is he here yet.......?" Tyron asks but stops when he looks up and sees Darren, he has a scared and angry look on his face, "Kids go upstairs now." He says to them, "Now!" He says with urgency, I send the kids upstairs, then almost instantly tyron gets in front of me protectively, "I don't know how you found out where he lives but leave, you have no right to be here after what you did!" Tyron yells, "Tyron what's the matter with you?! This is the guy I was telling you about Darren." I tell him, he looks at me then looks at Darren then laugh's humorlessly, "Wow I can't believe you'd sink this low, first you kill his brother then you try to pursue him, knowing full well that he doesn't know what you look like." The moment he said that I looked at him quizzically, "What are you talking about?" I ask tyron,

"This man is the new dragon emperor, the one who killed all of the clan leaders who opposed him, the very same man who killed your older brother, Dragon emperor Darren Stoneright." The moment he said that I froze in fear then turned around to look at the same man who killed my brother, the same man who I'd been going out with for nearly a month now, the feared dragon emperor himself, he tried to take a step towards me but I backed away in pure fear, "I can explain...." He tried to reason with me, "Get out." I trembled, "Just let me explain." He tried to touch me but I would hear none of it.

"Get out!!" I screamed and tears started rolling down my face, he looked sad but I didn't care, he then went to the door and left, the moment the door closed shut, that's when I finally broke down, I sobbed my heart out and then I felt arms wrap around me and I was brought into the warm chest of tyron, after that I sobbed even more,

I now know who you are Darren Stoneright and I will now know who I can hate forever.
