Vampire diaries- after 60 years

Chapter 2

Elena's POV

I start to feel something on my hand. Its squeezing it. I hear a voice but it's muffled. I must be alive or awake.

Either they found a loophole or... Bonnie is dead. I'm guessing that Bonnie is dead though. I wonder, how long have I been here?

I start to recognize the voice...its.... who is it? I listen as carefully as I can, until I finally recognize the voice. Damon.

I try to open my eyes, but they feel like they are glued shut. I keep trying, pulling as hard as my eyelids can, u tilt they pop open.

I am quickly met by bright light. I shut my eyes, and when I open them again, I see Damon above me.

Immediately my lips are on his. We kiss until I hear someone clear their voice.

I look up and see Stefan and Caroline, hands interlocked. Caroline lets go of Stefan and comes straight to me, engulfing me in a hug.

"Elena, I've missed you so much! Bonnie is dead and I really need my best friend!" Caroline is crying, both tears of joy and sadness.

I start to cry too, Bonnie is dead. I eventually pull away, I am still in the coffin. Its probably a good thing though since I haven't used my legs in a while.

Caroline steps back and I reach for Stefan. He quickly comes over and hugs me.

"Hey Stefan."i say weakly, my voice croaking a little from underuse.

"Hey Elena." He whispers weakly.

"Can you help me out of this coffin? I really don't like the feeling of death." I say.

Damon comes over, and the two of them help me out. I lean on Damon for support, and he wraps his arm around me. I begin to take a step, but I stumble. The only thing keeping me up right now is Damon.

"I think I need to get the blood flowing to my legs first." I stand for a little while, gaining more and more strength.

I take a step, and only stumble a little. I take another step, this one a little better. I keep walking with the help of damon and finally let go of him. my feet wobble a bit, but I can walk again.

I walk on my own out of the tomb, and find Damon's car parked right in front with the top down. Thank gosh.

Damon opens the door for me with his sideways smile. I really did change him, he wasn't exactly a gentlemen before we were together.

"For you my beautiful girlfriend that I love so dearly." he says, taking my head and helping me into the car.

"Why thank you my handsome boyfriend that I love so dearly." I say with a smile.

He shuts the door and gets in on the other side.

"I think you need something to eat! Where shall we go?" It's only when he says that that I realize how hungry I am.

"How about the Grill." he smiles and starts driving.

"Can I ask some questions?" I ask after a few minutes of driving.

"Ask away!" He says and takes my hand.

"Ok, first of all, how is Jo?"

"She died... the knife killed her and the twins. We had her funeral a week after she died."

"Ok...how long have I been in the tomb?" I am on the verge of tears already and my voice is shaky.

"Exactly 60 years. Bonnie got to live a long, happy life."

"Good, has Kai done anything else though?"

"I may or may not have punched his head off." he says with a smile that makes me laugh.

"Alright, last one. What happened to Jeremy, Matt, Alaric, and Tyler? They were all human." Please say Jeremy's alive!

"Well, Jeremy is married and has two kids which are also married. Alaric became a vampire. He tried to commit suicide after Jo's and the twins' funeral, but he didn't know he had been extremely hurt by Kai and he had a large dose of vampire blood, which was still barely in his system when he tried shooting himself. Matt is the sheriff of mystic falls but will be retiring soon since he's getting to old. Tyler is a hybrid again, Bonnie did a spell for him and he is now a true hybrid. He has another girlfriend though, another hybrid."

He gives me a small smile while I take this all in. Jeremy and Matt might die soon. I need to see them.

We arrive at the grill and Damon helps me out of the car. I take his hand in mine and we walk in together.

When we walk in the whole restaurant slowly gets silent and everyone is staring at me.

"Damon? Why is everyone staring at me?" He looks at me and smiles.

"I'll explain over dinner."

We sit down at an empty booth, everyone is still staring, but are slowly backing off.

"Hello, what can I do fo- oh my gosh! Your Elena Gilbert!" Our waitress says. She looks about 17, how would she know me?

"Yes? How would you know me though?" I say a bit slowly.

"I'll explain later. Lets just order, you need some food." Damon says. I nod and order a hamburger, fries, and a soft drink.

The waitress leaves and I look at Damon with my eye brows raised.

"Ok well let's just say that Matt has made it safe for vampires to live in Mystic Falls. Which also makes it safe to tell the truth about you. Almost everyone knows you and the rest of us." He takes my hand and I smile at him.

"That's great! You don't have to hide anymore!" I give him a kiss, and when I pull back he has a grin on.

"What?"

"I just won't have to hide at all soon. Even if we were still in danger."

"You still want to take the cure? Even after all these years?" I ask excitedly. He still wants to be human. With me.

"More then ever. I want to have a family with you and grow old with you. I want to be able to live a life with you at the same pace. Learn new things with you and teach our children those things. I want to live you until I die and well after that. And that will never change." This brings tears to my eyes. He has stayed in love with me for 60 years.

"I love you so much Damon."

"I love you too Elena."

We both lean in and meet in the middle. Our lips colliding. We kiss for what seems like forever until the waitress comes with our food.

"Thanks you." I say and she sets the food in front of me.

Once she leaves I immediately start stuffing my face.

Man I'm hungry.

So I haven't updated since the very first chapter and it have been probably about 4-5 months. I'm sorry! I keep making ideas for new stories and I just started the sequel to my main fanfic so I will have slow updates for this story. BTW the video at the top is amazing! Anyways, I hope you liked it!
