"You kids better hurry up because if you're not in the car in 5 minutes your getting your ass left behind!" Kenma yells as he grabs his keys and the lunches that kuroo had prepared for them earlier.

Rin comes storming down the steps and nearly trips over his feet but manages to catch himself.

"There's waffles in the toaster oven, you can eat in the car. Kaito hurry up we're gonna be late!"

"Im almost done!" Kaito yells from the upstairs bathroom.

Rin grabs his waffles and starts walking to the car. At the same time, kenma hears kaitos footsteps running down the stairs and straight to the kitchen. Kenma gives him a suspicious look, noticing that kaito is avoiding his gaze but he doesn't push.

Kaito grabbed a poptart from the pantry, not being in the mood for waffles and kenma leads him out the door, kicking it closed behind him.

"Did dad go to work already?" Kaito asks.

"No he's got the day off so he's still asleep."

They get into the car and kenma starts driving.

"So mom...I got invited to this party—" Rin starts but kenma interrupts him.

"The answer is no."

"What why?!"

"Did you forget you're still grounded?"

"Oh come on it wasn't that big of a deal!"

"Oh so sneaking out in the middle of the night and coming back home drunk isn't a big deal all of a sudden?" Kenma says in a harsher tone and Rin falters.

"You're not going anywhere for a while. End of story."

The rest of the car ride was silent until they arrived at the school. Rin immediately left without saying goodbye and just as kaito was about to get out kenma stopped him.

"So, who's the boy?"

"Huh?" Kaito asks and kenma sighs.

"I'm not dumb kaito, I know you've been seeing someone. You can keep covering up the hickeys all you want but I can smell him on you."

Kaito blushes from embarrassment and sinks into his seat.

"I—"

"It's ok. I don't have a problem with you sleeping with people but..."

"I won't get pregnant mom..." Kaito mumbles and kenma chuckles.

"Famous last words."

Kaito smiles.

"I promise I won't...bye mom love you."

"Love you too, i'll pick you up after school."

Kenma sighed on the way back home. His kids had grown up so fast. Is this how his parents felt like? It's true what they say, teenagers are not easy. Especially during highschool. They drink, they smoke, they have sex. All they wanna do is party and live life.

But if kenma was being honest, that's exactly what he did at their ages as well. It's not the partying and the drinking that scares kenma. It's the thought of pregnancy. Kenma had no idea what he'd do if kaito got pregnant or if Rin impregnated someone.

He'd probably faint actually. Kuroo and Kenma were careless. And carelessness led them to becoming teenage parents. Kenma can still remember how he felt. The way his heart dropped, then quickened at a rapid pace. The tears that spilled over when he saw those two positive red lines on the pregnancy test.
