Yasmina's POV

It's night time and I'm out looking for Wex & Jinto with Jinto's father Halling. They are playing culling in the forest at night again. My name is Yasmina Emmagan the younger sister of Teyla Emmagan. Who is the leader of our people the Athosians. Our home planet it Athos. We've lived here our whole lives. My sister and I have the power to sense when wraith are near along with several others in our tribe. I have a birth mark on the palm of my right hand that I keep covered with a glove.

Anyway we're in the forest looking for Jinto and Wex. It's already dark out. Jinto is Halling's son and Wex is Jinto's best friend. "I'm sure they aren't far" I assure him.

"I just don't like them being out after dark" he tells me. "Or out here alone at all" he adds.

"Please, don't hurt us!" we hear Jinto shout. We rush towards him. We rush into a clearing to see a group of men in strange clothing with weapons. Halling stands in front of the two boys protectively with his hands up. While I check on them and find they aren't hurt.

"Please! They're just playing" Halling tells the strangely dressed men. More strange men arrive and surround us. Weapons at the ready and I hold the boys close.

"Is everything OK here, Sheppard?" one asks a man.

"Yes, sir. Just a couple of kids" the man says. So his name is Sheppard. They lower their weapons and Halling helps the boys up. I stand up also facing the men.

"Halling, Yasmina" I say pointing to Halling then myself.

"I don't know what that means" Sheppard states and I giggle.

"It is our names" I tell him along with the other man.

"Oh. Halling, Yasmina it's nice to meet you both" Sheppard says with a smile.

"Are you here to trade?" we ask him curious.

"Trade. Yes. We're t-traders" he states after looking at the other man. He must be the leader of their group. Halling turns to Jinto, puts his hands on his shoulders and kneels down in front of him.

"Now, how many times have I told you not to play in the forest after dark?" he asks him. Jinto bows his head. Halling puts his thumbs on either side of Jinto's face to lift his head again. "I'm just glad you are safe" he states. The two of them touch their foreheads together for a moment.

"We're glad you both are safe" I state as I touch my forehead to Wex's. I turn back to Sheppard. "Teyla will wish to meet with you. Come" I tell him. We start to head back to the village the boys following and a few of the men behind them. Though two men stayed behind. Jinto and Wex go talk to Sheppard.

"Are you sure this is wise? They are strangers with weapons" Halling tells me quietly.

"If they meant us harm, we would already be prisoners" I tell him. "Besides we can always use more allies" I add. "Teyla will agree with me" I state. We arrive at the village and go to the dining tent. Where Teyla is eating dinner with several villagers. We stop outside.

"It is Halling and Yasmina" Halling says loudly announcing our prsenses.

"We bring men from away" I add. Teyla tells us to enter and we do so. Teyla and I greet each other with a hug touching our foreheads together. I love my older sister, she is the only family I have left. Since our parents were culled. She maybe eight years older then me, but she has always treated me as an equal.

"These men wish to trade" I tell her and she nods her head.

"It's nice to meet you" Sheppard says sheepishly.

"I am Teyla Emmagan, daughter of Turghan. You have meet my little sister" Teyla says gesturing to me.

"Colonel Marshall Sumner, Major Sheppard, Lieutenant Ford. We have very few specific needs" the first man states.

"We do not trade with strangers" Teyla states.

"Is that a fact?" Sumner asks her. I do not like his attitude.

"Well, then, we'll just, uh, we'll have to get to know each other. Me, um, I like, uh, Ferris Wheels and, uh, college football. Anything that goes more than two hundred miles per hour" Sheppard states. I frown in confusion, what is a Ferris wheel?

"Each morning before dawn our people drink a stout tea to brace us for the coming day" Teyla tells them.

"Will you join us?" I ask looking at Sheppard. He steps forward smiling at Teyla and I.

"I love a good cup of tea. Now there's another thing you know about me" he tells us smiling. "We're practically friends already" he states. Halling shows them to a tent for the night. Teyla and I go to our own, and sleep on our bed rolls.

(Next day)

We are having our tea and the strangers ask us about the city of the ancestors. "The City of the Ancestors is not safe" Toran tells them.

"We can handle ourselves" Sumner states.

"The wraith will come" Toran tells him.

"Who are these wraith?" Sumner asks us. Teyla, Toran and I shared surprised looks. We have never meet anyone who have never heard or suffered at the hands of the wraith.

"We have never met anyone who did not know" Teyla tells him.

"You have now" Sumner tells us.

"If the Wraith have never touched your world, you should go back there" Teyla and I tell them.

"Oh, we'd like to, but we can't. See, here's the thing, ma'am. We've got ourselves into a bit of a bind and we may need a safe place to stay for a while" Sheppard tells us.

"Our people have long believed that the Wraith will come if we venture into the old city ... but it is a belief we have not tested in some time" I explain. The men leave to talk outside. Sheppard returns alone.

"Your leader looks through me as if I were not there" Teyla tells him.

"Do I?" he asks her.

"No. You truly cannot return to your world?" she asks him.

"No" he says shaking his head.

"Then there is something you must see" she tells him. "Yasmina, tell Halling he is en-charge until I return" she tells me. I nod my head and they leave together.  She's no doubt taking him to the underground cavern. We used to play there all the time as kids.

(Time skip)

I was helping prepare dinner when I get a horrible feeling. And hear whispers in my head and look up at the sky.  "What is it Yasi?" my best friend Helena asks me concernced. Only she and Teyla call me Yasi, everyone else calls me Yasmina.

"Wraith, they are coming" I tell her. "Tell everyone, we have to hide now" I tell her and we spread the word. As we are about to leave and go hide in the woods. We hear the wraith ships and everyone starts to panic. "Do not panic, we have prepared for this!" I tell them firmly. "Grab your loved ones and get to the gate now. Lets move" I order and we do so. Where are you Teyla? We need you.
