The unexpected

It was a sad night the clouds were dark the wind blowing harsh against the trees outside as you layed in bed wondering how your boyfriend was doing he was out working being a doctor which meant sometimes he came home late but you were okay with that because he never failed to make you feel loved and appreciated even with his busy schedule

You always wanted to repay him for being the amazing boyfriend he was but he never allowed it saying things like

" You don't need too repay me"

" I like it better when it's just you and me baby nothing fancy "

So this night was just like any other just with your little twist on it you had made his favorite food so he would have something to eat when he got home from his late shift and here you were laying in bed watching Grey's anatomy and waiting for your lovely partner to get home you made sure to turn on your notifications for the door so you'd know when he arrived

An hour and a half later...

Surprisingly you were still awake by that time and that's when you heard that chime form your phone that you knew all too well racing to the door excited to see your love opening the door early and waiting for him to approach only to see his face when he got out the car looking oddly somber wondering what's going on you waste no time going to him meeting him halfway to the door

"Baby what's wrong?" You said getting more worried as you noticed the stains from freshly wiped tears on his cheeks he just looked down not being able to find the words without breaking down

You smiled softly if he didn't want to talk you understood that he wasn't ready yet and that was okay you trusted him enough to know he would come to you later "let's go inside love" you pecked his lips gently caressing his cheek before holding his hand and guiding him inside with you

Once you two were inside you closed the door behind you and helped him take off his jacket hanging it on the rack

"Are you hungry?" You questioned to which he simply shook his head to answer your question

You knew he had a rough day at work just by his body language not only that his tears said all you needed to know so you were gonna take care of him because he was your baby and he needed you more then ever

Skipping over dinner and walking to the bedroom with him following

"Sit on the bed and relax my love " you smiled and grabbed a towel and some comfortable clothes for him and placing them in the bathroom as well as running a warm shower for him before coming out

"Everything is ready for you in there I'll be out here when you're done"

Reassuring him of your presence he muttered a thank you before disappearing into the bathroom

10 minutes later....

Your boyfriend comes out the bathroom all clean and in fresh comfortable clothes you were back to watching Grey's anatomy looking over at the sound of the door and opening up the blanket for him to get in and he did immediately cuddling up to you laying his head on your chest you both layed like that for a while before he finally spoke

"I lost a patient today...My first one" he spoke sadness evident in his voice "I'm sorry my love "you sigh and run your fingers through his hair calmly hoping to make him feel better

"You don't have to say anything I just need you to be here for me that's all I need " he yawned tiredly his arms wrapped around your waist cuddling you like a teddy bear

"I'll be here for you no matter what my love"

You gently kissed  his forehead before you both feel asleep in eachothers arms
