Cap. 19: The process

The day of the process finally came and the omegas were more than ever ready to aim for the head. The news had gone public the week before and they were able to find some recordings of phone calls, photographic proves and many other things to use as tangible proves in the meantime.

Useless saying that Spike had tried to bribe all of them to shut up in the court, attempts that were recorded by the omegas as recommended by Lucas. They were ready and they were angry.

The day itself started strongly as Brett stepped out of his house and found a horde of journalists that were trying to have a word on the topic by him. Unfortunately, He couldn't have Eddy by his side because he was a witness and if the news about them having a sort of connection went public his deposition could have gone to waste. And they wanted to avoid it since Eddy was one the few alphas that could give a professional advice.

Even the court was full of people and among all of them there was that shithead in person. He was already sat at the table with his lawyer and was waiting for the omegas to enter.

Useless saying that he would have been the first to be called after the opening harangue.

Lucas: "Good morning Mr. Spike..."

He said standing from the table

Lucas: "You are the ceo of the company E. R. M. , correct?"

Robert: "Yes, I am"

Lucas: "And you've been working for years in contact with the omegas that are now sitting at the table behind us, correct?"

Robert: "Correct"

Lucas: "Very well, I have to admit that I have very little knowledge of the way the contracts of your company works, can you explain it to us?"

Robert: "Sure, the base contract provides a manager to the omegas that works for six years as freelance in the company..."

Lucas: "Wait, six years as freelance? So, they can have a stable income just after six years of work? If I don't go wrong, when you are working freelance for a company said company has not the obligation to pay the omega every month, even in case of pregnancy, while with an agent the omega has full rights, or am I wrong?"

Robert adjusted on the chair a little uneasy and confirmed

Lucas: "And why so? I mean, these kinds of occupations can start by being freelance and companies like yours should provide a safe experience for omegas out there that are struggling finding even freelance jobs, so why six full years? Your honour I would like the witness to read out loud a passage from the contract"

Judge: "Proceed"

Lucas handed the contract with a highlighted part to the man

Robert: "...the omega won't be having a pregnancy during the six-years freelance period, punishment the annulation of the contract..."

Lucas: "Thanks...so if I'm hearing right, the omegas have to work for six years as freelance for the company, in which they cannot have a pregnancy, or a monthly income, right?"

Robert: "Correct..."

Lucas: "Your honour, I would like to introduce prove number one and two: a contract for an alpha and a vial of suppressants recommended by the company"

He took out the envelope and proceeded in reading out loud the contract

Lucas: "The alpha will need to complete a freelance period of two years before having assigned an agent, with three weeks of holidays per year and a period of three months for paternity...this ladies and gentleman of the jury is the contract for an alpha from the same company, that claims to be specialized in omegas"
