Today was officially going to be the start of a "NEW" me. This summer I made some major changes to myself. I went shopping, got a whole new wardrobe, hairstyle, make up and I lost 30 lbs. This all took place over one summer. One summer that will change my life forever. I was always the one teased because I didn't wear name brand clothes and shoes or have my hair done perfectly everyday. I wanted to shed my so called "nerdy" image from middle school because I was starting my first day of high school tomorrow.
----Next Morning---
"Bre get up!", my mom yelled from downstairs.
Today was my first day of high school and even though I was excited I was still tired and wanted more sleep. So I hit the snooze button for 5 more minutes of sleep.
"Bre get up now or I'm going to come up there and pull you out of bed!"
"Alright Mom I'm up, I'm up. Jeez"
I finally decided to get up partially because my alarm wouldn't shut off, but mainly because I didn't feel like starting the day off be being pulled out of bed.
I got up and showered, dried my hair, curled it, brushed my teeth then did my make up. I was so excited to get my new clothes on. I decided to wear http://www.polyvore.com/school/set?id=30498540. I looked in the mirror and headed downstairs.
I was running a little late so I scarfed down my food and rushed out the front door.
It took me 15 minutes to get to school, and when I got there I was so nervous. Then I heard someone scream my name.
When I heard the scream I knew exactly who it was....Alexis my best friend since diapers.
"Bre! Omg you look so different." "I missed you so much!" "What did you do over the summer?"
"Well I missed you to, and I went shopping and lost weight." "I wanted a new image, but I'm still myself."
"Well don't worry babe you look beautiful!"
"Thanks lexi."
Me and Alexis walked into the school and looked for our lockers. 10 minutes later we found them and thankfully they were right next to each other.
"Alexis what do you have first period?"
"Umm hold on...Okay I have English with Mr. Higgins." "You?"
"Ya me to!"
"Good thing we're together first period Bre, because I don't want to be all by myself so early."
"Ha me either"
We walked to first period together late, because it took us at least 5 minutes just to figure out how to read the map.
As soon as we figured it out we found our way and walked into first period. There were two empty desk in the back and we took them. It wouldn't last long though because the teacher told us tomorrow we are getting a seating charting.
"Hey Alexis do you want to come over after school?"
"I would, but I have to go to the doctors with my mom. She hurt her knee a few days ago and they're doing an MRI on her knee." Sorry."
"It's ok don't worry about it."
First period seemed to drag on forever. Then the bell finally rang and me and Alexis headed back to our lockers. Sadly me and Alexis didn't have anymore classes together 'till sixth period.
"See you later Bre."
"See ya." And with that we went our seperate ways. I was able to find my classes ok. I had math second and gym third and then it was lunch time.
As soon as I got to the cafeteria I text Alexis.
"Hey where are you?" "Do you have early lunch?"
She text me back pretty fast.
"Ya I'm in line right now."
"K." "I will try and find you in the crowds of ppl. lol"
I looked in 3 different lines and hadn't found her. Then I got a text.
"Hey silly I'm right behind you.:)"
I turned around and there she was with her lunch tray.
" Oh hey how was class?" I asked her.
"Well the teachers mainly talked all period, so it was boring.
"How bout you?"
"I met a few people, but that's bout it."
"Are you going to get lunch?"
"Nope I'm not that hungry plus i brought a little bag of chips."
"So where shall' we sit?"
"How about over there across from that group of guys?"
Let's just say that Alexis is boy crazy, I'm not saying I'm not but I just don't have the confidence to go up to a random guy and talk to them.
"I guess so since theres no where else to sit."
As soon as we sat down a guy from across the table walked over to us. But of course I knew it was for Alexis.
"Hey."
"Hi"Alexis said all flirty.
"What's your name?"
"Alexis. You?"
"Preston." So hows your day going so far?"
"Pretty good."
"So would you like to hangout later?"
"Uhh yes." "See you later." Alexis said as she waved bye to him.
"Ya but I think I kinda need your number."
"Haha I knew that."
Alexis's cheeks started to blush went they exchanged numbers.
As he walked away Alexis stared at him. Then all lunch she talked about him.
"Isn't he cute Bre?!" "He's cute right?" "He's so cute!"
Before I knew it I was being drowned out by her voice talking about a boy she didn't even know.
School went by pretty fast after that and I walked home alone and as soon as I walked into the house I was swarmed by my mom and dad.
"Hey honey how was school?"my mom asked.
"Um it was fine." "I have two classes with Alexis."
"Well that's great." my mom came and hugged me.
"So did you meet any cute guys?"
"Really MOM!" "It's only the first day."
"Hey sweetie you never know. Theres a lot more people in high school, and with the new you I bet there will be tons of guys wanting to date you."
"Not for her theres not." my older brother said. "No one would want to date you."
Me and my brother used to be really close but once he got into high school things changed. He was always the popular one since elementary, but for some reason high school changed him. He became the school's biggest player, every girl wanted to be with him even though they knew it was for one thing and one thing only.
"You know what Jesse, just because I don't act like a whore like you doesn't mean no one wants to date me!."
And with that I went upstairs to my room and called Alexis.
It went straight to voice mail and I remembered she was at the doctors with her mom. So I left a message.
"Hey Lexi, call me when you get this."
Since my best friend wasn't avaliable I decided to leave, and I didn't know where I was going. I just needed out of my house.
