billie had been in the cell for just over 24hours.
she had been crying the whole time, the urges to hurt herself and drink were too much to handle that she started banging her head off the wall.
officer lea had to come in and calm her down quite a few times. billie's cheeks were tear stained and she looked like she had just been dragged through hell and back.
"time for your trial" officer lea says as she handcuffs billie and leads her to the court room.
"you'll win don't worry, i partnered up with your family" she reassures billie, "it's so stupid!" billie cries, "i know i know, you need to calm down before you go in there"
billie calms down and they walk into the court room, the eyes of her classmates, teachers and family made her nervous.
sandra was stood with a smirk on her face, what did billie do wrong? she was just trying to survive.
(i don't know how court cases go so pls bare with me)
"this is the trial between sandra jones and billie o'connell" the judge starts.
billie sits there with her head down shaking. the fact her classmates and teachers were here made her even more nervous.
"sandra jones i'd like to start with you, when did this occur?" the judge asked, sandra started making up a bunch of lies. "friday, ms o'connell came into her therapy session as usual and everything was going fine-"
"i asked when it occurred. what do you claim happened?" the judge interrupts.
billie is sat in anger with officer lea and lawyers next to her due to the lies coming out of sandra's mouth.
"i asked ms o'connell a question, in which i cant remember and she didn't like it. so she got up and yelled at me before punching me and stealing my bag before she left" sandra lied.
"you took photos of the bruising on your face after she punched you correct?"
"correct"
"i'd like to show exhibit 1 please" the judge asks.
"so ms jones, it looks like your eye was bruised. where is that bruising now?" the judge speculated.
sandra stuttered before answering, "i- it's makeup, i have makeup on so obviously the bruising is covered"
"alright, ms jones please take a seat" the judge says.
"you'll be okay" officer lea says to billie.
"ms o'connell to the stand" billie lets out a breath before walking up to the stand.
"so ms o'connell, what do you recall from friday?" the judge asks her.
you'll be okay
officer lea's voice repeated in billies head.
"i obviously went to my therapy session that day and it was going okay until i lashed out. i do admit to yelling at her but in no way did i put my hands on ms jones nor did i steal her handbag" billie says.
"but ms jones has proof of the bruise after you punched her? that makes no sense" the judge says.
the amount of rage built up inside officer lea and billie's family was almost unbearable. billie was shaking so badly as she looked up to see everyone's eyes on her.
"i know, it doesn't make any sense. is there security camera footage we can look at?" billie suggested, the judge nodded.
"we have no had time to over look this footage, are you okay with it behind shown?" the judge asks billie, she nods in response and the footage plays.
"i don't want or need your fucking help!"
billies voice can be heard, then, as clear as day the footage shows that billie didn't touch nor take any of ms jones belongings.
sandra's face went bright red whilst a small smile tugged at billie's lips, "well i guess that closes the case. ms o'connell you are released and have a good day" the judge smiles.
everyone cheered as sandra and her team stormed away. for the first time in a while billie felt a little okay, she was relieved.
-
"how did all my classmates and teachers know?" billie questioned her mom as they got back home.
her mom shrugs as she takes off her shoes.
billie immediately goes upstairs and locks herself back in her room, a wave of sadness hit her.
she quickly grabbed the alcohol sitting next to her bed and downed it, grabbing her blade she made deep deep slits in her wrist.
feeling relief.
billie quickly unlocked her phone after charging it, it had been dead for ages.
a text from drew came up.
