"Hey have you seen the new kid?" Candyce ran up to me and grinned as we walked to the cafeteria. I nodded.

"I have algebra with him. Why?"

"He's pretty cute!" Candyce laughed.

"That's what everyone has been saying."

"you dont think he's cute?!" her eyes widened. I just shrugged.

We headed to the table in the back corner and sat next to our group of friends.

"Anastasia, hey! Have you heard of the kid named Alex?" my friend Francesca tapped my shoulder.

"Yeah. Very aware of him." I chuckled.

We talked about random things for awhile and ate and then talked more.

I glanced to my left and saw that Alex was with a group of guys.

Making friends already? How popular can this guy get in just a few hours.

They laughed and chatted about who knows what.

After a few seconds of staring, he turned my way and glanced at me.

He waved and smiled. My cheeks turned red unintentionally.

I waved back and turned around to talk to Francesca.

The last bell of the day rang acknowledging the students that it was time to go home.

I got my stuff from my locker and met up with the two idiotic friends that I of course admire dearly.

"Ana!!" Francesca and Candyce synced as they ran up to me.

My lips curved upward.

These two, the only two who stuck by me. From 7th grade till now.

Surprising cause how can you put up with a girl like me this long?

"Okay so Jacob came up to me and asked me for a pencil and I gave him one and he winked at me like..."

I smiled at Francesca and then wandered off into lala land.

My eyes roamed around the as we exited the schools front entrance.

I closed my eyes and inhaled the fresh air. Today was nice.

It was sunny and bright.

Not that I dont appreciate gloomy days. Cause boy do we get a lot of those.

I said bye to my friends and walked away from the school and into the streets of chicago.
