I finally controlled the bleeding from my nose, I had never had a nose bleed before, it was something completely unheard of in Elven history, then again I'm completely unheard of in Elven history. I decided to use my telepathy and see what Aragorn saw before I ran away, maybe that would give me some explanation.

I had my back against a tree and I closed my eyes, breathing out and channeling my powers. I accessed Aragorn's memory and let it relay in my mind.

**Aragorn's Memory**

"We must carry on to Lothlórien, there we will be safe for the night." I said. Legolas walked over to Thurinel, probably to help her up, but she shot up and growled at me, an animalistic sound that I was not used to hearing from her.

"Do you not grieve for the loss of our wizard?" She snapped. "Even if you don't, you should have a shred of sympathy for those of us who do! If you have an ounce of dignity then you'd give us a minute, just a minute, to collect ourselves! Obviously not." Her normally golden eyes became black and she doubled over and gasped in pain for a second. Legolas put his hands on her back, but Thurinel swatted him away, straightening up.

Thurinel's eyes were all black and blood was coming from her nose, snaking down her face, but she seems completely unfazed. "Thurinel-" I started but she cut me off, raising her hand.

"Don't." She turned and shifted into a wolf, but it wasn't her normal form. The wolf was black, with a white splotch over her heart. Thurinel sped off and we were left there, gawking.

"What just happened?" Boromir asked. We all just shook our heads, completely baffled, afraid and upset.

"If only Gandalf were here, he'd know." Frodo whispered.

"Do you know where she'd go?" I asked Legolas, in hopes that we could find her in time to still make it to Lothlórien by night fall. Legolas was silent for a moment before nodding and running off.

**end of memory**

The crunch of leaves snapped me from my daze. I hopped up and pulled out my bow, notching an arrow and aiming towards the sound. I glared into the dark of the bushes, I couldn't pick up any scents because my nose was still stuffed up. I listened carefully for any other sounds and I heard the quietest breathing. "Show yourself, I know where you are." I growled. "Don't comply and there will be and arrow in between your eyes." The culprit revealed themselves, Legolas appeared from the bushes with his bow raised and aimed for me.

"I want to know if it's you Thurinel." He muttered with his eyes narrowed. I lowered my bow and my lip quivered. Legolas dropped his and rushed over, grabbing my face and examining me, looking directly into my eyes. "They're gold again." He let out a breath of relief and pulled me into his chest.

I sobbed to him. "I saw Aragorn's memory." I sniffled. "What happened to me, why were my eyes black?!" I gripped his back tightly. Legolas rubbed up and down my back, in an attempt to clam me.

"I don't know melanim, I don't know." He said. "But you're okay now. That's all that matters." He kissed my forehead and held me for a few more moments. "We must join the others and head to Lothlórien."

I nodded and followed him through the forest to where the Fellowship should be waiting. Legolas stopped by a small stream and pulled a cloth from his pack. He dipped the cloth into the stream and faced me. "I suppose you want the blood off your face." He said as he began to wipe around my nose, mouth and neck. He shook his head sadly, his eyes glistening. "I was honestly afraid that something had happened to you. I'm still worried, but you seem in good health right now." He wrung out the cloth a set it back inside his pack. Instead of standing up though, he stayed sitting, looking at the ground, where I witnessed a single tear escape from his eye. I stood there for a moment, not knowing how to react, before deciding what to do. I knelt down in front of him and touched his hand. Glossy, electric blue eyes looked up at me. "What happened to you? It terrifies me to think that something is wrong with you."
