Jungkook sighed completely endeared eyes full of hearts that were directed at none other than Park Jimin.
Park Jimin the intern that Jungkook had fallen head over heels for the moment he laid eyes on him three months ago. He was the epitome of what Jungkook wanted in a partner. He was beautiful, kind, smart, funny, generous and did he mention he was beautiful. Even with all of that, there was just one problem. Jungkook had never actually spoken to Jimin because Jungkook avoided Jimin like he was the plague. Why do you ask? All because of the breakroom incident. The worst and most embarrassing moment of Jungkook's life.
It was a normal day like any other normal day at their office. Okay it wasn't a normal typical day because it was the day that Jimin started working there. And sure, the whole incident could have been avoided had someone warned him. Warned him that a Greek God was moonlighting as a human, but that didn't happen. So, what was Jungkook supposed to do when he turned around from the coffee machine except be enraptured and startled all at once by Jimin's presence and beauty as he smiled at him while he walked into the breakroom. It wasn't like he purposely missed his mouth as he was in the middle of taking a drink from his cup of coffee consequently dumping his entire cup of coffee down his front. Coffee that was still hot mind you. And it's not like it wasn't understandable that Jungkook let out a scream that would have rivaled a soprano opera singer. Or that he bolted directly afterwards leaving behind a very confused Jimin and a puddle of coffee.
Jungkook cringed at the memory of that day into a sigh when he heard Jimin laughing at something Taehyung had said to him. Jungkook pouted wishing he was the one making Jimin laugh like that.
"If you were any poutier, I might actually feel sorry for you." Jungkook leaned back into his cubicle and looked up at his boss but also best friend Namjoon. "You know he's never going to be able to know you as anyone else besides the guy that was hosting a wet t-shirt contest with coffee in the break room if you don't talk to him, right?"
"Easy for you to say." Jungkook muttered. "You weren't the one hosting the contest."
"Jungkook. Seriously. It's been three months since." Jungkook gave him a look. "The incident. I'm sure he has forgotten it by now."
"If I haven't how could he have?" Jungkook asked himself more than Namjoon.
Namjoon sighed, "you're hopeless."
Jungkook knew Namjoon was right but every time he would talk himself up to approach Jimin he'd chicken out the moment he saw Jimin and bolt. So yeah, hopeless was the perfect word to describe him lately.
"Anyways, I'm here as your boss and not your friend right now." Namjoon turned serious. "I need the data from our latest survey in Jongno. It was supposed to be in my email yesterday."
Jungkook's brow pinched together, "I sent that email yesterday though."
Jungkook kicked his feet off the floor sending his chair across his small cubical space that was perched at the entrance back to his desk. When Jungkook was near the desk he grabbed the ledge of it and turned himself and his chair to face his computer screen. Jungkook went into his company email and clicked on the email that Namjoon was referring to and promptly turned red completely and utterly embarrassed. Jungkook had forgotten to hit the send button, so the email had saved as a draft. Jungkook heard Namjoon sigh over his shoulder. He didn't have to see Namjoon to know he was shaking his head too. Jungkook refused to turn around after he sent the email still too embarrassed.
"Don't stress it Jungkook."
Jungkook just nodded his head and opened the current data profile he was working on.
"By the way, don't forget about the company Christmas party this weekend. And, yes, before you ask. It is mandatory just like it is every year."
Jungkook heard Namjoon leave and promptly let his head fall and hit his desk, his forehead thudding against it. Jungkook hated going to the company Christmas party because every year, which has been the past two years someone tried to trick him into standing underneath the mistletoe. It all started when they found out that Jungkook had never been kissed at the very first Christmas party he attended. He knew it was just a game and at this point a tradition, but Jungkook wanted no part of it. Jungkook wanted his first kiss to be with someone he liked. Not someone who had thrown in on the betting pool. Yeah, Jungkook knew about the betting pool. A betting pool from his understanding had reached a million won as of this year. Jungkook groaned and turned his head from his forehead to his cheek which smooshed his lips out on his desk making him look like a fish, but he didn't care. Because all Jungkook could think about was that his weekend was already ruined, and it wasn't even here yet.
