CHAPTER 9 WHAT HAVE WE HERE? PART 1

Daniel POV:

As much as I wanted to not go I talked to the kids and they were excited to go and they really liked the dresses and suits Darren had gotten them so I reluctantly agreed to attend the ball.

As the night of the ball came surprisingly fast I told the kids to shower and then change into their outfits as it was already 6 o'clock and the ball was at 7:30 o'clock, so we had a bit of time but we needed to hurry.

I shower and clean myself up then I put my suit on, I come out from my room and go to the stairs yelling up to everyone, "Come on kids it's 6:30 we need to go!!" After that the girls came downstairs first and oh my gosh I had to stop myself from squealing at the adorableness, "Oh my gosh you all look so cute!" I say, then the boys come down, "You all look so handsome." I say and they all smile at me with really big smiles, then we all leave, I wanted to wait for tyron but he said he'd just meet us at the party so we went to the palace and oh my gosh the palace was beautiful,

We get out of the car, the kids are behind me as we get to the front gate, then a guard stops us and says, "Your invite please." I hand him mine as well as the kids invites, he scans them very thoroughly by the intense look on his face as he's reading them, "Daniel Gemson and children?" He asks me as he looks up from the letter, "Yes that's me." I answer, He then bows to me and I flinch in surprise, "Forgive me for not letting you in, I did not know what you looked like, my sincerest apologies." He says and I stand there utterly surprised, what is happening?

"Um it's ok you don't need to bow to me." I say very embarrassed by what's going on right now. "Oh but I do sire you are all esteemed VIP guests of the dragon emperor and you are to be the empress of the fourth and final southern region." He says to me, and that sentence right there explains why he's acting like this towards me, Darren must have told the guards that I was going to be his fourth empress, the empress of the southern region,

If you're confused I'll explain, there are four regions, just like a compass, north, south, east, and west and there is an empress for each region among the empresses of the past each receives a title with their region.

The current empresses titles are as follows, the flower of strength from the north Alice Magus, the intellectual beauty of the west Talia Vola, and finally the great artist of the east Tania Esper, these three are the current empresses and they are each amazing in their own way from what I've heard.

Alice is said to be one of the strongest female dragons in many years she was even able to go toe to toe with Darren and his brothers, that's what earned her the title flower of strength, and Talia is said to be a child prodigy, she excelled academically and went to college at the age of 14, and graduated with full honors in nuclear engineering, and just a bunch of other things and only at the age of 16, and lastly there is Tania the great artist, she has a brilliant artistic talent, her paintings and sculptures have put some of the most famous artist's and sculptures of our time to shame, I seriously don't see how I can be compared to them, the only thing I have a great talent for is magic, that's right dragons can use magic, but really it's nothing very special.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when the guard says to me, "Pardon me your majesty but the emperor is waiting for you and you're kind of holding up the line." I look behind me and am met with the annoyed faces of the other people who are waiting to get inside, I blush and squeak out an "I'm so sorry." Then I rushed the kids inside, where we followed the others to the ballroom and let me tell you this ballroom was incredible I was so shocked.

The party was in full swing and while I was looking for a place to sit, I saw the new clan leaders, the sons and husbands of the former clan leaders who were killed by Darren, I went over to them and brought the kids with me. "Do you mind if we sit here?" I asked, they flinch a bit but when they see it's me they relax, I looked at them and realized that they were all omegas, I looked for the dominant clan leaders and found them sitting across the room chatting with other people acting like nothing was wrong.

I furrowed my brow in confusion, "If you're wondering why we aren't sitting with them it's because they are traitors, we were loyal to our parents and husbands but the dominant new clan leaders sold them out because they secretly supported emperor Stoneright, they live in luxury while we omega clan leaders are forced to be mated with members of the emperor's personal guard, used as punching bags and stress relievers for them at the end of the day." A clan leader I recognized as Marco spoke, I was horrified at this, I knew he forced the new omega clan leaders to be mated to his guards but I didn't realize it was this bad.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts as someone comes up behind me and says, "Well well well, what have we here?"
