A Shadow's Diamond

Chapter 7

Sonic walks next to Shadow. He is irritated that Shadow had to take him away from Diamond. He does find her beautiful. Surprisingly she is more beautiful than Rouge and it's hard to top that bat. He begins smiling to himself when he begins to think about Diamond and how beautiful she is. Her voice sounds like a thousand of angels singing at the same time to him. He puts his hands behind his head as he soon looks over to Shadow to see him pissed off. He loses his smile and asks, "What is on your mind?"

Shadow feels anger rising inside of him. He needs answers, but he forced himself to stop. He looks at Sonic and speaks, "Stay away from Diamond."

Sonic stops walking and raises an eyebrow, "What?"

Shadow shakes his head and holds a hand up to his head, "I have this strange feeling about that leopard. I don't know what it is about her, but it feels like I have known her before."

Sonic lowers his hands, "You don't think that you might have met her on the Ark, do you?"

"I don't know, but I need answers." Shadow says.

"You can get answers and I can date her, how about that?" Sonic smiles at the thought.

Shadow looks at Sonic annoyed before continuing on walking with Sonic following him.

Diamond looks at the ground below her as she holds onto her arms. Not knowing what to say to her friend who is talking about the next comic is she might be publishing online. She looks up at the sky to see the clouds forming into shapes that she can recognize. A dragon, bird, and a baby. She shakes her head which causes her friend to stop talking and gain attention of what is going on.

Olympia raises an eyebrow, "You ok, Diamond?"

Diamond looks at Olympia and nods, "Y-Yeah... Just out of it."

"Is it about the blue hedgehog?"

"No, it's about the black and red hedgehog." Diamond said.

"What about him?" Olympia asks while stop walking in front of Diamond.

Diamond stops walking and stares into her friend's eyes, "Long before I have met you and Ray, I knew of Shadow. Me and him used to be on this space laboratory called the Ark. We used to be friends and I would watch over him, this blonde girl named Maria, a scientist named Gerald, and the kids."

"So, seeing Shadow reminds you of the time that you were on the Ark?" Olympia asks while tilting her head to the left.

Diamond begins to walk around Olympia, "He does, he would be stuck in a tube while I would wonder around the Ark. Looking for places to hide while I wasn't busy watching over Maria, Gerald, the kids, and even Shadow. Sometimes I would even talk to Shadow while he was in the tube."

Olympia follows Diamond and walks next to her, "That isn't creepy at all."

"He made me feel better while being on the Ark. He was the only reason why I didn't go insane, but ever since lab 4 caught on fire. I couldn't see him anymore, I had to protect the kids instead of protecting myself like how I was programmed to do." Diamond starts to cry a bit.

Olympia puts a hand onto her friend's back and rubs it, "You are in a far better place now than back when you were on the Ark. You have me, Ray, Snow, and Petal now. You aren't alone and you don't need to feel as though you have to protect any of us. You may have been programmed to protect a couple of dead people, an emo hedgehog, and the twins, but now you aren't some science experiments, you are mine and Ray's friend and Diamond the snow leopard. The caregiver for Snow and Petal and the greatest friend that I ever had." She smiles wide.

Diamond looks at her friend and smiles back. Olympia is right, she is no longer a science experiment, she is her own being. A being that she has worked hard on for since she has woken up. If it wasn't for Ray and Olympia, she wouldn't have been on her feet getting to know the world around her.

The girls continue on walking to the school that Snow and Petal are at. Diamond stops walking at the front of the school while watching kids begin to pour out of the building. A white kitten wearing black snow gear walks out while holding onto a pink kitten long sleeve from a long light blue winter sweater. Both of the girls walk out to find Diamond waiting for them with Olympia. They start to run towards their caregiver and her friend.

Petal runs up to Diamond and hugs her, "Diamond! I missed you so much!"

Diamond hugs Petal tightly and picks her up, "Hello, Petal. How was school?"

"There was another argument between Mrs. Kettleson and Josh." Petal says while puffing out her cheeks.

Snow walks up to Diamond and Petal, "School was boring, there is nothing for me to do here."

Diamond looks at Snow with a smile, "School is for learning and making friends. Did you at least make 1 friend today?"

Snow shakes her head, "No, all of the boys are scared of me while the girls won't even approach me."

Petal raises up her hands, "Me and Snow ate some grass today!"

Diamond looks at Petal with concern before shaking her head and putting Petal down onto her feet, "Well, we are going to someone's house before heading home because I need to take care of some stuff."

"Ew gross." Snow sticks out her tongue.

Diamond lets out a sigh before turning around and walks back to Tails's house. She has Snow and Petal follow her while Olympia walks next to her. Talking about her next comic that she is planning on doing.
