February, 2029.

Hands tightly held, breathing hardly, you enter the foggy forest with your husband and your two children. The city was far away, abandoned. Sweat slowly dripping from your temple, you look down at your daughter who's hand is glued to yours.

« Are you okay my sweetheart ? Do you want us to stop and take a break ? » you ask even though you know the break will not last more than two minutes. She looks up at you and shakes her head slowly indicating that she is fine. You turn your head to look then at your son, too exhausted to run besides you and currently resting on the back of your husband.

Naturally, you lock eyes with him and slow down. You lightly examine his pale skin, his frown and his lips parted. It will be hard from now on, but with him you feel like you can do it, you can do everything as much as he's with you and your beloved children.

« Darling... » you exhale, he then raided his eyebrow, waiting for you to continue. « Are you okay ? » you ask. He slowly nods, « we should get going, anything can happen. »

Your silhouettes silently venture in the large and mysterious forest.

April, 2029.

« Jungwon... », you mumble, hands trembling and lips quivering. He looks reassuringly into your eyes before kissing your forehead.

« Y/N... I think it's worth it. It's been two months since the Apocalypse started... I promise I will come back. » He then looks at your children, peacefully sleeping and kiss their forehead too while caressing their hair softly. His eyes are so caring, it's like they are holding the whole world. You can't stop the tears falling from your eyes as you try to stay quiet. But quicly, you gather yourself. « This is for the best, for our children. »

In front of your tent, you admire his face as if this will be the last time. You look into his brown eyes, those eyes where you found yourself lost every time you looked into them. His nose reminded you the times where, in high school, you used to bump yours with his. His cheeks where his dimples showed every time he smiled. And finally his pinky lips where you kissed him ever so passionately. You cup his jaw with your palms and slowly you both kiss. A meaningful kiss that shows the trust of all these years of being together, the care but mostly the pure and true love for each other. Parting away, he doesn't miss the way your eyes glint with tears as he's quick to kiss them away. You enjoy the warmth of his hands clasped around yours, making sure to remember it. He finally whispers lowly :

« I will come back, it's a promise, okay ? » you nod not breaking the eye contact.

« Promise... »

« I have always trust you, you know that, right ? I love you. »

Jungwon kissed my forehead one last time before letting go of my hands and disapearing into the fog.

You didn't even have the time to tell him that you too, you love him... and will always do.

But he already knows that, right ?

The wedding ring shines brightly at sunrise.
