My Boyfriend's Brother- Chapter 1

Hailee's POV

My name is Hailee Steinfeld, I'm 26 and I'm an actress and singer. I have a boyfriend named Kevin Eagerton 28 , who is an accountant and we were dating for 1 year and now we lived together. He was a nice guy and he cares about me that's why I fell for him. When we started living together I saw his true color . Everytime we argue or if I mess up , he turned into a beast when he gets mad and yells at me that makes me really scared of him that's why I'm always careful with my actions until I get used to his attitude.Even if I go out with my friends , I have to go through a lot of discussions before he approves. I feel suffocated and I'm scared of leaving him because he was unpredictable I'm not sure what he might do if I break up with him but I still love him though.

It was Saturday winter morning and I woke up at the sound of my alarm clock. I took a vacation from work because Kevin wanted to introduce me to his family. We were dating for 1 year but I never met them . They knew me as his girlfriend but I have never met them formally. He said we will stay there for a while until Christmas to celebrate it with them. Honestly, I'm not sure of meeting them right now and I still don't think I'm ready yet. I have second thoughts but I never dared to tell Kevin. His family were rich and Kevin told me his parents own 5 hardware stores.

"Babe, good now you're awake, pack your things up now. Bring everything you need. Okay?"Kevin said.There he was , with just a towel around his torso.
I got out of bed and look for a suitcase to fix my stuff. As I was getting my clothes from the closet I felt hands around my waist. He started kissing my neck. Everytime he does that I felt butterflies and love ,but now I don't know and I don't like him doing that.
"Babe, You told me to pack up so stop doing that." I told him shrugging my shoulders.
"I know but can I have it?". He said nibbling my ear.Wow I couldn't believe what he just said.
"What? No, not today okay. I'm packing." I answered then I continued what I was doing.Finally he released me. Gosh.
He went down to the kitchen and I know he was pissed so I got in the shower. After I was done, I changed into something neat ,did my make up and I put on my coat because it was freezing outside I wasn't sure I still want to meet his family but Kevin insisted.
His family home was a 4 hour drive from where we live. I wasn't in the mood of talking to him so I just pretended to sleep on the car ride. Hours later, I felt a tap on my shoulder .
"Babe. We're here. Get ready and fix yourself." Kevin straightly said and got out of the car to get our bags.
I retouched my make up and fix my hair. I took a deep breath "this is it." I talked to myself. I looked through the window and wow their house was big and glowing because of the Christmas lights and other decorations. Better than my house back home.
I stepped out of the car to help Kevin with our bags.
"Don't worry babe, they will love you." Kevin assured. He put his arms around my shoulder as we walked towards the door. He knocked on the door and was greeted by I assumed was his dad. We went inside and Kevin hugged his dad. I stood their and smiled watching their interactions.
"So Dad, I want you to meet my girlfriend Hailee Steinfeld." Kevin started as he pulled me close.
" Besutiful lady Kevin, Nice to meet you Hailee . I'm Jack." He put out his hand for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you too Sir. Kevin told me all about you." I said As we shookhands.
"Really, please just call me Jack and I hope he told you about the good ones." Jack joked and we all laughed.
" Kevin?" a woman's voice call and I assumed it was his mother. She walked towards us and hugged Kevin.
"Hi Mom!"Kevin greeted while hugging her and kissing her cheek.
"Mom this is Hailee my girlfriend." He said and his mom hugged me too and kissed my cheek. I smiled back at ther as we pulled out.
"You look so beautiful Dear. I'm Jenny. Kevin's mom. Finally I get too meet you." His mom said palming my cheeks and smiled.
"Great meeting you too Ma'am . You're house looks gorgeous by the way." I said.
"Thank you dear , oh and please call me Jenny." She smiled.
They welcomed me warmly . Believe me Kevin's family was really nice. We sat at the living room , talked about any random stuff and joked at the same time.

"Alright everyone , let's get to the kitchen for dinner." Jack said. We went into the kitchen and the dining table setting was so elegant. They introduced me to their housekeepers Caroline and Rebecca , they were both around their 40s I guess. There were food that smelled good and very appetizing and there were 9 chairs prepared , I'm guessing they were expecting visitors.
I sat beside Kevin while his parents sat the other ends of the table. We were already having dinner and we heard the front door opened. It was his eldest brother named Theo with his wife Brianna and daughter Annie around 5 y/old and she looked so cute. They introduced me to them and sat with us. I was quite shy sometimes but believe me thay are all great people. His dad was a joker and that's what makes the dinner exciting. At the middle of our dinner the front door opened again.
"Hey hey hey, good to see you son." His dad happily greeted.
"Sorry I'm late Dad." the man said.
They all hugged him while I just sat their watching them.
Kevin stood up and hugged him too.
"Hey brother. What'up good too see you." Kevin said.
"By the way Hailee, this is my younger brother Damian. Damian , this is my girlfriend Hailee." Kevin said while wrapping his arms around my shoulder.
"Hi Hailee. Nice to meet you." Damian said looking at me and pulling out his hand for me to shake.
"Nice meeting you too." We shook hands and I felt spark as we made contact.
Damian smiled at me and I smiled back. I slowly scanned his face. He has gorgeous green eyes , nice clean cut dark hair , taller than Kevin and wearing a white turtle neck and he looked really clean. But I realized he is Kevin's brother and I shouldn't have checked him out that so inappropriate.
He sat across me and Kevin. We all chatted and laughed at the same time.
"So Damian, how was work?" Jack asked.
"I'm enjoying it at the moment. and Dad since you mentioned it. I am now a permanent international pilot." Damian said . Kevin never told me he had a brother who is a pilot.
They congratulated him with his announcement.
I was glancing at him and he caught me looking at him. He smiled sweetly at me without malice but I felt different.
Kevin's hand was on my thigh's sliding up and down and I cringed at his touch. Then I slowly moved his hands signalling him to stop.

" So Hailee," Jenny started. And looked at her
"You are an actress and a singer right." She continued.
"Yes ,"I answered and smiled.
"It's good that you are here with us ,since it is a busy job ." Jenny said sweetly.
I was about to answer her but Kevin came on the way.
"Busy job? for what Mom? Busy kissing people for a living ?" Kevin meanly said. Everyone stopped and looked at us or I guess at me.
"Kevin!" Jack raised his tone.
"What? It's true. That's what actors and actresses do." Kevin continued . Why was he being mean to me. His mom glared at him.
"It was a joke guys. Come on , Hailee knows it , she wouldn't get offended." He said jokingly and kissed my head.
That wasn't funny at all. I wanted to rush out and cry but I tried to remain calm for everyone.
I fakely smiled and didn't say anything until the dinner was done. I was embarrased and offended by what Kevin said.
After the dinner. I went to our shared room to change into something comfortable. Kevin was lying down and on his phone. I was mad at him and I wanted to confront him about what he said , but not now not in his family home. I laid down on the bed and with a heavy heart, tears fell down on my cheeks but I didn't mind wiping them until my sleep took over.
