Himeno was dying.

Himeno is dying.

Her body consumed piece by piece in a desperate attempt to save Aki and the others lives, refusing to watch another die instead of her.

First an arm then the next, as the katana man cut Ghost's off, followed by the legs.

She easily understood her time was soon but even when she thought she was ready for it, she wasn't, she didn't want to go.

But as she saw the strike near Ghost she knew it was soon over for her.

Tears filled her eyes, she was not ready, she was not, she wanted to live, just a little more, just a bit more.

"Make a contract with me and I'll save you." A forced voice said.

Himeno opened her eyes, seeing the dust, smoke and debris not moving, awed for a moment before looking to the source of the voice.

She saw a two still moving creatures, Ghost and a blond woman that looked ready to die before Himeno herself had the time to bite the dust.

She could have taken the woman in a completely black uniform almost looking like the bureaus for a human... If it wasn't for the sharp teeth she was grinding against each other, eyes purple with concentric circles around in the iris of lighter purple and other little circles circling between the lines and lastly elvish fairy tale looking ears.

She couldn't say much as the fiend or devil fell too her knees, holding her midsection with a hand, the skin on the hand touching the ground turning a rot black before it dissipated into smoke.

"Dammit." She hissed looking at it. "Make a contract with me and I'll save you." She repeated to Himeno with a bit more insistence.

"What would you have to gain from it?" She still found herself asking, if living a worthless life came out of this contract, she preferred dying.

"I want my life, if I don't find a way to contract someone to tie me to this earth I'll soon be gone, sent back there, I can't go back there, so in exchange for saving you, you become a host too my mind and soul to tether it to this earth."

Even in her case she found herself hesitating, watching the smoky rot climb up the arm of the woman, making her fall forth as that arm evaporated.

"I offer you my strength, I'll fucking fight for you, I'll protect you just make a contract with me!" The devil sounded desperate, sweat beading on her human looking face that was twisting with unknown horrors it witnessed.

"I have nothing left to offer up for the deal, I am only alive since time is not moving, Ghost took all."

"If I can get your body back, will you pass the contract?!"

"Yes, if you can also get my eye back you can have that."

"Alright." The devil sat back on her knees, turning to Ghost. "Ghost devil, I offer you a part of myself in exchange for her body back and Himeno I request your eye." The devil hunter nodded, silently agreeing, despite the stopped time she was falling more and more faint, only the battle had stopped not the bleeding it seemed.

She watched the arm the devil woman held up towards Ghost have huge chunks vanish from it, leaving half circles as if someone took bites from it, each bite had one of Himeno's limbs appear reattached to her body, even feeling her eye 'grow' into her socket.

"Now... Himeno!" She took a breath, holding up her hand to her eyepatch and flipping it up, taking a moment in delighting seeing with two eyes again before grabbing nearest knife she saw and blinded herself again, carving out the jelly-like orb, dropping it with bloody optics in the bitten arm of the devil.

She heard her mutter something and the eye turned into a balled up piece of paper.

"The contracts are fulfilled."

The next moment Himeno was tackled down to avoid a slash from the katana man.

Blinking as she grabbed her still bleeding chest, the tackle hitting her head on the ground.

-----------------------------------------------------

She gasped as she woke up, panting in panic as she looked at her intact body.

"It.... It was not a hallucination." She said, feeling her eye socket empty again. "I am alive..... Ghost." She tried calling but it didn't come forth like it usually did, only a small hand dropping a ghostly piece of paper on her lap.

She read it over with a frown and not only because it was hard to read.

Himeno, for I am gone when you vision this. The snake devil has gotten me with her master and them I serve against my will, for they let me send you one last goodbye, having become the only human Ghost can call true friend. For if you wish to work with me kill the snake woman.

"How nice." She said with sarcasm, Ghost having been taken by that snake devil lady and somehow controlled against its will.

She sighed, folding the paper but it had already faded from existence.

She sat in bed, grabbing her head.

"Oh what have I gotten myself into?" She muttered.
