Later that evening Wednesday had returned and had started peeling off the colourful stickers on half of the window. Delilah was sat in the corner by that window drawing. She smirked when she saw what Wednesday was doing.
'Enid is going to go bonkers when she sees what you're doing' the brunette signed and Wednesday shrugged in reply as she continued peeling the stickers. The door swung over and there was a loud gasp before an angry Enid stomped over.
"What the hell did you do to my room?!" She fumed.
"Dividing our room equally" Wednesday replied as she kicked the stickers across the tape that's she'd put on the floor.
"It looks like a rainbow vomited on your side" she muttered walking over to her typewriter. Delilah watched the two interact as she held back a laugh.
"I-" Enid started before being cut off by Wednesday
"Silence would be appreciated this is my writing time"
"Your writing time?" Enid questioned the goth girl.
"I devote an hour a day to my novel. Perhaps if you did the same, your blog might be coherent. I've read serial killer diaries with better punctuation" Wednesday muttered. Delilah snorted earning her a sharp glare from her blonde friend.
"I write in my voice. It's my truth. It's what my followers love" Enid raised her voice slightly.
"Your followers are clearly imbeciles. They respond to your stories with insipid little pictures" Wednesday stated walking over and meeting the werewolf in the middle of the room. Delilah jumped up walking over. 'You mean emojis? She signed at Wednesday.
It's how people express their feelings. You know,I realise that's a foreign concept to you" Enid added.
"When I look at you the following emojis come to mind. Rope, shovel, hole. By the way, there are two D's in Addams. If you're going to gossip about me, at least spell my name correctly" Wednesday grunted walking back over to her typewriter.
'I told you it was two D's!' Delilah signed as she pulled a face at Enid who replied by rolling her eyes. Delilah went back to her spot in the corner by the window picking up her sketch book once more. She heard the music turn on and it startled her. Enid stood there a bright smile on her face as she danced. Wednesday did not like this.
"Turn that off" she hissed. Enid said nothing and continued to dance which Delilah found quite amusing.
"This is your final warning" Wednesday continued as she stormed over. Enid growled as she extended her sharp claws.
"Don't mess with me. This kitty's got claws, and I'm not afraid to use them" the blonde snapped. The door opens and in walks Ms Thornhill, Enid is quick to hide her claws.
"Good evening,girls" Ms Thornhill cheered.
"Oops sorry about the mud" she apologised as she stepped on either side of the black tape. Delilah got back up walking over standing in between her two roommates.
"I wanted to make sure Wednesday was setting in. Is this a bad time?" She continued on.
"I'm Ms Thornhill, your dorm mom. Apologies, I wasn't here to greet you when you arrived. I trust Enid and Delilah have given you the old Nevermore welcome" she told Wednesday with a bright smile.
"Enid has been smothering me with hospitality. I hope to return the favour, in her sleep. And well, Delilah is...tolerable" Wednesday muttered still emotionless. Ms Thornhills eyes widened and Enid's smile dropped.
"Well, here's a little welcome gift from my conservatory. I try to match the right flower to each of my girls and when I read your personal statement in your application,I immediately thought of this one" The red head beamed.
"The black dahlia" Wednesday stated.
"Oh you know it?"
"Of course. It's named after my favourite unsolved murder. Thank you"
"Okay-dokey. Well before I leave I want to go over a few house rules. Lights off at 10:00,no loud music and no boys, ever"
"What's the story about going into the local town?"
"Passes to Jericho are a privilege, not a right. It's a brisk 25-minute walk, or there's a shuttle on weekends. The locals are a tad bit wary about Nevermore, so please don't go making any waves,or perpetuating any outcast stereotypes. That means keep your claws too yourself, no smothering people in their sleep and Delilah no getting violet to chase the younger children"
The brunette snorted earning her a serious look from Ms Thornhill. The red head left the 3 of them too it.
"Keep the music off" Wednesday snapped at the blonde before walking off. Enid sighed over dramatically and stomped off to her desk. There was silence for another hour before Violet went over to Enid and was whining.
"What is it violet?" Enid hummed. The Labrador retriever barked before walking back over to Delilah. Enid turned to look where the brunette was only to see her laying on the floor eyes closed as she was violently shaking.
"Shit! Delilah" Enid yelled as she ran over putting the girls head in her lap. Wednesday turned around to see there pair on the floor and wondered over.
"What's wrong with her?" Wednesday asked curiosity filling her eyes.
"She's having another flashback! She gets them sometimes" Enid said frantically as she stroked Delilah's hair soothingly.
"Delilah,I'm right here okay it's just a flashback it will pass" The blonde whispered to the shaking girl. The brunette's face twisted into a pained expression sweat dripping from her forehead. Wednesday sat down beside her two roommates and placed a hand on Delilah's knee, she didn't know why. The goth girls face twisted in disgust but she couldn't pull her hand away she felt the need to...comfort the girl. Delilah snapped out of it gasping her eyes red because of the fear she felt.
"It's okay, you're safe Lila" Enid whispered.
Delilah took deep breaths as she calmed herself down. Her mind was going a million miles per hour and this set of her power of mind reading and she heard both Enid and Wednesday's thoughts but tried to blank them out not wanting to invade the girls' privacy. She snuggled into Enid's touch not noticing Wednesday's hand on her leg until it was pulled away and a cold feeling rushed over her. Wednesday walked off.
