(yeah well non canon story line warning duh.)

Kishibe, her master, was who made her doubt Makima's motivations.

It was why she wanted to get Makima drunk at the newbie meet up but failed horribly.

And this nagging feeling that something was off with her came back itching at her side when Makima seemed to question greatly her survival, as if she was almost hoping Himeno would die then, despite it all, she remained polite with her boss until she left the hospital room.

"So that's what became of her." Himeno looked at the windows with a head jerk strong enough to give herself a small bout of dizziness.

The suited woman was back, sitting in the ledge of the now open window, one leg hanging outside and the other propped up on the frame, an elbow propped up on her knees, twirling a ball of paper in between her fingers as she stared at it.

"You..."

The woman span, stepping into the room, her long blonde hair swishing around like spider silk glimmering in the sunlight and swayed by the breeze, her steps having no sound too them as she walked across the room and leaned against the door for a moment, reaching down and locking the door with a movement.

"A devil holds up their part of a contract much more often then a human does, I promised protection so if I am away I cannot fulfill it."

"Why did you offer such an odd contract?" Himeno crossed her arms over her chest, she was sore, her hands and arms still feeling residual numbness from when they were cut off, she hadn't tried to even move her legs yet, feeling them too weak.

"I was a bit desperate and a contract is much more convenient then becoming a fiend." The woman landed against the foot-board of the bed, not meeting her eyes, still looking at the paper ball she was staring at it previously. "I wouldn't be myself anymore, we both know fiends are only fractions of the original human and devil.

"Why did you even need such a contract to begin with?" She rose a brow tho the devil woman couldn't see it.

"Trapped by fellow devils, I rotted away for more millennia then there is left to count, a cycle of death and decay, unable to escape it, living only to suffer until one day the grain of hope finally found a weakness in this prison, I could only get a little part of myself out, weaker then most things that exist today. The pull back was strong and I would be trapped once again." Her voice was silky smooth, smooth talking people into trapped deals many times before, with her body looking human-ish to be an asset to use too, a trickster.

"Why me?"

The devil stopped rolling the paper between her fingers, glancing at the human she passed that contract with.

"As much as you'd wish for me to say it was a sought out choice but it wasn't, you were the closest desperate enough human to make such a contract."

"How nice, couldn't expect anything else from a devil." The devil grinned a sharp smile, tilting her head slightly, pushing off the bed, flicking the ball of paper too Himeno, it unfurling in the air into a crease-less page of paper with her name, Himeno, in bold blue, written in cursive, at the top.

The human grabbed it and read it over.

It was only a few sentences detailing again the point of the contract, from how she was a host too the devil's soul and mind to tether it too earth, to have the devil serve as her strength, fight for her, protect her while the devil's part was just to have this tether.

"A big price for such a small ask."

"Trust me, I'd have given much more if needed." The devil confirmed her thoughts.

"But now you think you didn't set up enough clauses." Himeno felt cold at the devil's bigger grin as she leaned over and pressed her hand on the paper, words pooling out from under her hand and sticking too the paper when she pulled it away.

Himeno read it over, new asks on the paper, requesting her blood and.... Her help? That was not the most shocking, usually devils don't make written contracts but she knew this one was authentic and it was still a devil contract. What froze her up is how the devil just changed the terms of contract without her agreeing to it.

"I will play nice, I have no reason to want you pain Himeno." She grinned. "All I request is that." She tapped the paper, it turning back into a ball and rolled out of Himeno's grip and into the devil's, she picked it up and flicked it in her mouth, when she bite down black smoke puffed out between her teeth. "I am a fragment of myself, I want to be free, I need help, I can't free myself, bound by the laws of this world so I'll need someone to free me, you will help me gain back my strength and find the seal on the gates keeping me trapped... So let me ride along in your mind and soul to walk the earth again, we find the ones who imprisoned me, get me out. When I am strong enough you will help me find a new host I can have complete control of, then I won't need you and the contract will be fulfilled."

Himeno could just watch, truly realizing what dangerous game she started to play.

And at the same time it made her blood rush with excitement, something outside of the same old days.

And maybe she could get more out of this alliance then the devil expects.

"Alright." She smiled at the grinning devil. "I accept."
